It's a DW DC-10 - my favourite mould - so all I can say is: Nice!

Makes you wonder how light the F117 is if it's gonna hang off the KC-10 on the stand. BTW, the attached F117 is a pretty cool idea by Dragon.

I'm just getting this one for the F117A.I already have the other two KC-10's. It's like getting a box of "Kracker Jacks". Once you get the toy, you throw out the box with kracker jacks.

If they ever get around to it...I really want the two low-vis schemes that the KC-10 has worn instead of this one.

Dunno for sure, but it's quite possible it commemorates the lineage of the particular aircraft wing or squadron.

For some reason..it is hard to get historical info on the KC-10...and its a plane I know little about.. but I did find that this plane was later stationed at travis..so more than likely it came from March AFB and it had something to do with the Wing down there...I believe it was part of the 22nd Air refueling wing ( now at McConnell AFB..but was at March before it was turned into a reserve base)...the 22nd Air Refueling Wing..was part of the SAC gods and had the B-29s/B-50s and then took the B-47 when it was the 22nd Bomb Wing
the old style AAF star was oonly used in the white top paint ( I think) and had something to do with the 22nd ARW

I very well could be in left field..but this is wht I have found...

here is a differient tail # with the same roundel

I got to fly in the KDC-10.. I have a good friend from the Netherlands..and He was a Boom Operator on her and is now a Flight Engineer..
there Bommers use cameras to see the planes they are refueling and sit up near the flight deck bulkhead..where as the USAF KC-10s have the Boomer sit in a char with a window and will visually fly the boom into the female aircraft

My friend said that it was a bad design to use the cameras..because the flight direction and the sun angle have to be just right..because of the glare...but she is a beautiful plane...they were stationed up with us in our forward location...
