Angry Moose and Eddy get Busted

Well on Sunday, on my way back up to JFK for my flight home to Aberdeen, Moose and I decided that we would do a little spotting and were fortunate enough to find a pretty awsome place right on the end of one of the runways.

The excitement didn't last long as the NYPD sent two of it's finest (finest dikheads, me thinks) to move us on.

Here you see the cop car just pulling round to come speak to us.

I really hate when the police come and ruin the excitement for spotters. That has happened quite a bit here at YYZ as well.

Alternatively... you can head over to Hoard Beach and watch the entire airport action from across the bay at the parking lot.

If you let me suck your dick next time, I'll show you the real good spots then maybe we can go watch planes.
Maybe you should shut your fukking mouth. This is a VERY common spot for shooting. Sometimes we get booted. Most times we don't. I know of all the spots you speak of but for a quick hour of spotting this was fine. No need to be calling people idiotic, asshole.

From what I've seen, it's best (if possible) to find a public parking lot to do your spotting from.

When the planes are landing/taking off on the right runway here in YYZ, I usually go to the Wendy's parking lot that's right in the pathway. If ya pickup a fry to go, no one can bother you!

I went to Gravelly Point yesterday at DCA. TONS of people, not a cop in sight. And two teenagers were hurling rocks at planes passing overhead. Yet Moose and Eddy get hassled simply for watching and taking pics.

As for goingboeing and Vortilon, why don't you two go spot cars on the highway.

We, do not forget tha those two people were"TWO WHITE INDIVIDUALS" If I was one of the cops I'd had done the same....whites around an airport is bad news.
It could also be, that you two being in a solitary place, the cops thought that, at least, one of you was a male prostitute.
New York is a very special place with all kind of accents, colors, sizes and shapes. If you do speak English and white is your color....man, you're in the wrong place.

BTW: One way to be left alone if the police's approaching is to start digging in a trash can, that way even if you're white, the cops won't bother you.

im really sick of the po-lice hassling us spotters! i went to SFO with Pilotguy on 4 June and a Millbrae or SFPD cop was parked by us, just kicking back. Pilotguy said that cop been there before. luckily he just stayed in the car. anyway Moose and Eddy, im sorry the NYPD hassled y'all. whenever i spot at SJC at certain locations, the cops never hassle me...

I'm a bit surprised that Gravelly hasn't been closed off. Then again, the river visual does take you right over a good hunk of bike path, so they'd pretty much have to prevent people from any river activities.

The variety at DCA was mediocre, as usual. I did see a Frontier 'bus w/ Cougar tail, a very dirty Delta 757 in the widget livery and a wonderfully loud Midwest Express DC-9. It was incredibly crowded, even for a weekend. Too crowded, in fact.

Ed,
We'll have you spotting at a safe place in a couple of weeks.

Yesterday evening I was biking at the south end of SLC Intl (great bike trails I use often) spotted the usual DAL, SWA mix along with a smattering of UAL, AA, etc and various freighters as far as the aircraft end of it goes, but we also ran across a doe mule deer at the arrival end of 34L and several red fox kit's playing around, wildlife is very common in this area around the Jordan River Beltway and it makes for an excellent evening.
Our Observation area is officially closed but the Airport Police do not hassle anyone for parking near it and walking over to the grassy knoll.

I'd suggest you keep your fingers sealed before calling someone you don’t know “idiotic”. Moose has always been a great member and a good friend to most of us.

You either have a genetic defection, or you're hanging with the wrong crowd, Goinggay.

Yeah Kev, I made it and I had a great time! I have to admit that I completely completely forgot to give you a bell. I'm sorry for that cos I was looking forward to meeting you. I didn't actually get in to "The City" itself anyway.

BTW, E, what exactly did you hear about that seller?
I know exactly what you're talking about, but for those who don't, here's the story.

I was bidding for something on eBay with a guy out in Hong Kong - JDHKSTAR or something like that - and I won the auction. We spoke a few times by e-mail which was fine but then something came up on DAC saying not to use him cos he totally shafted another collector here.

In my books, anyone who knowingly rips off a collector deserves little or no respect and at that point, I immediately cut off contact with him.

This was not only to protect myself from being ripped off too, but also to show him that doing this to ANYONE may result in more widespread problems for him in the future.

Thanks for bringing it up though, it was well worth it.

That's your choice my friend and I respect you for standing by it. Personally, I don't really care what my eBay feedback says. I use it so rarely that I don't worry and what I know is that the people here on DAC and other people around the world I have conducted sales with - either privately or via eBay - know how trustworthy I am.

I never trust the eBay rating system as there are always means of getting around it - I will always base my judgement on how the seller deals with me and on other reports I hear.

EDIT : I wonder who you are. Your location is set as VLADIVOSTOK yet your English is just superb - flawless, even. I have absolutely no problems with your opinion on this subject, I even respect the fact that you brought the topic up. I just wonder why you (someone who is OBVIOUSLY on DAC under a different username) must hide behind an alias to post this.

OK Ron, you're on my list too. Right at the top..........

The very kind Moose actually provided me with 10 boxes of Cornbread mix which I took home with me and will get cooked up over the coming week or two.

He also got me some Muffins which I totally forgot about but managed to eat one on the way back to the airport. I really really am a Corn Bread Whore. The stuff is excellent!

Default interesting spotting for Jet-Powered.

I was out at the KSLC bike path again last evening, this time there were two homosexuals frolicking in the grass and a CRJ7 overhead, you never know what it is you’re going to see out there.

Eddy, make sure to add some real corn kernels to the mix prior to baking. Otherwise the next morning you won't be able to say, "I didn't have any corn!!"

Um, the majority of the people (active posters) here on DAC do actually reveal their true identies so I wonder why you see this as being such a big deal.

Most people on DAC know where I live, my first name, my last name and some even know my frikkin Credit Card number because of the trust that they have shown they can be given. I see no problem with people knowing the real you, unless you have something to hide (possibly some form of in-breeding?).

Certainly there is nothing wrong with exchanging personal information with trusted friends, but this is a public forum over which you have very little control. What you choose to discuss here personal or otherwise is your prerogative.

"I see no problem with people knowing the real you... ". We can all relax, the Great Oz has spoken. But you'll forgive me if I pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

I needed a spot of humor this morning - thanks E2

You must have something to hide if you don't list your true identity...

It's hard to take anyone seriously when posting behind fake names and not having their profile filled out.

Your posts are meaningless

Wow. The Ben Franklin Hotel...... Why does my head fill with images of a grimey, run-down motel with a broken ice-machine out front (kinda like the Hacienda at LAX, I guess) when I hear this name?
