Default New 1/400: Martinair 767-300 "Fox Kids" livery

I saw this at Tristar Airplanes World in the Dragon Wings section

The stock # is FOXMAR767 so Im guessing it's from one of the Dragon Wings sub companies.

Color's better than the Tucano, but still not "good". Nothing worse than people who've (presumably) never seen the show trying to match the colors of the main characters... I mean, it's pretty easy to match Peter Pan green and Donald Duck blue, there's LOTS of official references--but Eek! blue-grey-lavender? Not going to happen unless you're familiar with him.

Looks much better than Tucano, but I would rather have
a BB release...

As Mr. Hingtgen correctly points out, the colors are still not perfect but they ARE a little better than those on Tucano version of this bird.

HOWEVER, it's a 767-300 and we all know that Dragon's 767-300 mould leaves a LOT to be desired.

I have to admit to picking up the Tucano version of this model a couple of weeks ago (I like Fox Kids!) and the mould is actually really really good. Certainly, it's better than Dragon's.

The unusual thing is that this model was released by Tucano before they released the GOD AWFUL Belair (I believe) which was terrible. Their mould has gone from reasonable to terrible. Very odd.

Pardon? Before BB released their 763 mould, I would have said that Dragon's 763 mould was the best 767 mould around.

But of course BB has now raised the bar, but I would still have to say that DW's mould is pretty nice...

Wink

Nice model...hmmmm but I have completely switched to 100% 1:400 metal. So I have to pass it no matter what.

Yeah, I as well as others could tell when you started jumping around the plaza like a monkey on crack, yelling and screaming in customers ears over your newest addition to the 'Tumath Collection'...

What's so odd about Tucrapo producing garbage?? That is the norm! I'm surprised you lowered yourself to buying any of their garbage; some other manufacturer, in this case DW, will always produce anything Tucrapo makes, better... better, and cheaper!
See you in London next weekend!!

I know, I know

I saw it, I liked the cat, it was cheap (yes, cheap) and I was on a buying frenzy (around a thousand bucks spent on planes during the trip) so I bought it. I will get this Dragon version though and will do some entertaining things with the Tucano version and document it with my digital camera!!!!

I have to disagree Faheem. I bought my first Dragon 767-300 about a year ago when I was in Auckland - it was an Air New Zealand (old colors) and frankly, it put me off the Dragon 763 all together. I haven't bought one since.

I have to admit that the above model looks better than Dragon's previous 767-300s but the ANZ one really REALLY sucks. Their 762, however, is a different story.

Well I don't think you can really judge a mould by just one model, right? Dragon keeps on improving their moulds, and I believe your Air New Zealand is probably on an older mould. I only have 2 DW 763's and one (the older one) has a really pointy nose that looks nothing like the 1:1 version. The second however looks much more realistic.

If you're looking for a really nice DW 763, I suggest you buy the Jet-X Lan Chile. A really nice model
