Question Dragon's lost releases... What really happened??

Unfortunately I don't have any insider info. So I'm starting this post to ask what's happened to models that DW announced but never hit stores?

There are (atleast) two that were announced on Dragon's site.

Namely:

&

I also heard that Dragon was to release an Alitalia 777 sometime last year. Gemini beat them to it, and DW's version never was produced.

So where did these models goto? The AA and AC are nice, and I'd really like to buy the AA in chrome. So what's the deal?

Please share your thoughts,

I really wanted to see the Air Canada model. I don't know why DW never released it. I had heard that Gemini was to release the same model, but it never did either.

I would love to see the 747-433 in a Gemini II seamless mould.

Question Agreed

I've also been eagerly waiting for that Air Canada 747. Another imaginary release is also this.

As you said, WHAT HAPPENED???

I have also been looking forward to the Air Canada model. I would have preferred this release to the oddball 2-pack they released.

I heard Jet-X isn't releasing any AA planes because of a licence issue, so I guess Dragon has the same problem? As for the Air Canada, I have no idea what happened and I would be very interested to find out

I heard from multiple sources that the AA A300 is the subject of ongoing litigation either between model manufacturers or between the airline itself and one or more manufacturers.

Either way, it sucks, because the A300 is conspicuously absent from my collection (other than the DW Pan AM and DW/JX Eastern models).

Let's hope they get this resolved soon.

If the rumours are that the AA A300 models are already made, and it's a license issue, why wouldn't they release them under "Big Shooter" or something and just jack up the price? Would be good business for them I would think... Anyways hope GJ will make one someday...

most likely the price of having to make all new boxes, dont know how much that would cost but it maybe a little over what everyone would pay for a norma model, it might be more profitable just to try and work things out, anyone who knows more about this correct me if im wrong.

Don't give Dragon idea's Jeremy! There's already enough high priced models out there.

If they have been made however, why won't the CRSmith Museum buy them? I don't think they have licensing problems with AA.

Prolly because they for some reason doubt the selling value of an aircraft model that most recently lost a tail (correct?) and crashed. :dunno: I wont buy one tho, just to say I have it.
