Default <-Is he even old enough to HAVE a liscense?

I would buy them from you but I already have them on order with my retailer. Unless they are unliscenced, I don't buy unliscensed.

I check Ebay every so often and what I've found is that most prices are more than what I can get at a retailer. Also, if you win only one model from a seller you have to pay an additional $4 to $5 shipping per model. Why bother when I can usually get free shipping from a retailer for multiple models.

Sad truth is that most 'pre-owned' models are only worth 30-40% of retail. Exceptions are only those that are both very limited and desirable.

I never thought of it that way. I thought that as long as the model and box are in good shape, the value would be the same when it comes to models.

Nick, I'm interested to know your reasoning behind this. Do you mean that they are only worth 30-40% to a dealer buying them from a private collector for resale? Otherwise I can't see how this can be true.

I wouldn't do this, but suppose hypothetically, one day I decided to say "Screw this hobby!" and boxed up all my Geminis, Dragons, Aeroclassics, etc. and got a table at a show to sell them. Ignoring the valuable, "collectible" ones, say I wanted to sell them at 80% of what other dealers were selling them for. Assuming the model was in new condition, with no visible defects/signs of wear, couldn't I get at least that 80%? If other retailers were selling say, a GJ US Airways 757 for $20, could not I get $16 for it? For most of these models, how can you even tell whether they are "Preowned" provided you dust them and put them neatly back into the box??

OK I should have said 30-40% OFF of retail....whoops....big difference from 30-40% OF retail........

Take a look at what some brand new MIB models are bringing in on ebay which is about 50 - 70% OF retail and apply these same discounts to show prices (which double as fire sales for some of us). Then factor in that some models are just plain dogs (say half off) while a select few are going to bring in some bigger bucks (say 100-200% of retail). Also, the larger the group of models being sold the less per model you can expect to get.

ROFLMAO!!!!

I don't know which is funnier... JJ's statement or Doc's response!

To me, ALL of my models are worth-less (and to my wife, worthless! ) money once I buy them... They aren't investments, they are amusements! Just like this forum!

A little perspective is healthy folks...
