Default I'm Outta Here

Guys, this will come as a god-send to many of you while I am sure there will also be a few who will be sad to see me go but after the events of the past few days I have asked the coach to throw the towel in.

I GIVE UP, I'M OUTTA HERE

Things have gone from bad to worse over the past few days and I feel that I had very little to do with it. I voiced my opinion as everyone else is doing. My opinion just happened to be different to that of many other people and instead of allowing freedom of speech and entitling each person to discuss their thoughts on the topic, many began gunning for people like myself who didn't want Clip to continue as moderator (and there are lots of us).

I have taken a lot of crap here at DAC but hoped that this would be the kind of place where informal chat could generate new friendships and indeed, I have made some good friends here.

My frequency of posting seemed to bug-the-crap out of some people, why I don't know. I got stick for this. My opinion about Clip seemed to bug-the-crap out of some people and again, I got stick for it.

I will no longer post here, I will no longer visit here. My profile will remain active with my e-mail address and I invite anyone who wishes to remain in touch to e-mail me. I would love to hear from you.

I would much rather I leave than have Clip leave. Clip is a great and valued member of DAC and the last person I would hope to cease participation on this forum.

I will send a copy of this post to Clip by e-mail.

To all of you, those who found me a positive addition to the DAC user list AND to those who didn't :

I wish you all the very best for the future. This is a great hobby and you are ALL great people. It has been a pleasure 'meeting' you and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here.

Goodbye from Scotland

We have a bunch of drama queens on this forum. I wish everyone would please just grow up. I post less frequently nowadays due to other priorities and this is what DAC is coming to? I'll free up my time and volunteer to moderate if Gordon needs a hand. Please, come and threaten me now.....

Well this is only step one in the 10 step process to get back to the DAC of old as there are still several other lame-brain newbies that need to find other forums to desecrate.

Hi Sean, you know what, that's not a bad idea. Go for it, and who knows you might be able to convince Gabby to give it another go, the two of you would make a good moderator team me thinks.

BTW, did you finally sell that model we had talked about before?

Edwin

Another person who takes this forum too seriously. Why would anyone care whether you stay or go?

Arrow I delete my own post if I don't care for them!

It works and reduces the loads on the server.

Just Ideas for people leaving for good, I am just trying to make the place run better.
Getting rid of old post.

Ever since my episode with poison ivy while doing the female camp counselor back in the late 70s I tend to stay away from anything with the word 'poison' attached.

I still have it. If there is still interest let me know. I haven't been able to make the modification your contact wanted though. Shoot me an e-mail.....

When I first joined DAC everything was cool, then people started to to crap about6 me for what reason I don't know, some people said everything will be cool. This shows that DAC has jerks and has people that really want to be here. This sucks that people leave due to idiots that have to come here a start crap for no reason, oh ya the reason is cause they fell they have to post. To bad DAC has turned out like this.

Unhappy

I can't believe how many sad people there are not only on this forum, but on either sides of this arguement. I've been around here long enough to see this sort of thing happen at least 3 times now, why is it a big deal?! One long standing member decides to resign and so a few lemmings decide it is time to leave too, some moron makes stupid comments and thinks they've been hard done by - they then decide to up sticks. But not without the "shame on you and i'll have the last laugh" type speach. This is quickly followed by a re-incarnation with a new name, coming back a few weeks later hoping all is forgiven or not leaving at all and just responding to their critics, because they can't drop a fight. There is an astonishing amount of people here who believe in their own total superiority and it's sad, i'm also surprised that a forum where the age range is so wide that rather than ignoring stupid squabbles the older members choose to join in and I can tell you, it makes me think twice about posting on a regular basis again.
Why can't people just fade out rather than announcing their intentions to an entire forum, who will most likely rip them to peices over the issue? Can people be THAT stupid? Just don't post something if you know it will bait people...You WILL lose the arguement and you will NOT get the last laugh.

Old man Nick over and out!
P.S. I'm done ranting now...I'll get my helmet before the enraged populus starts shooting flak up at my little cloud above DAC.

It's just like Celine Dion, it took her a year of announcements to let us know she was retiring then weekly press releases after she did. Just when we get to the "alright just go away already" point, she announces that she's back and ready to embrace her fans again, sheesh!
Look people, it's only a forum, nobody is coming after you with 2X4's (with the exception of Clip's little fan club) so if someone offends you just ignore them, or better yet if it's in your nature, offend them right back. There is no need to, as Moose stated over dramatize your departure with the hopes of us feeling for your injustice, NEWS FLASH: The pity bus has left the station!
Either stick around where you know you're welcome or if you have to, leave.
I for one will miss everyone who leaves but I'm not going to cry over it.

What's that in the corner?

I think it's Eddy's soap box. What will he do without it?

What a tragedy.

So, looks like we've got a Babs stand-in for DAC.
So the raging question is:
Howmany fairwell tours will he make?
