Default TACA: El Centromericano One-Elevens

Just a few days ago I turned down the opportunity to get an Aviateca 737 from a Waffle Collection sale (I kind of regret it now) but a few weeks earlier I did acquire a 2nd TACA One-Eleven so now I have enough TACA's to do a blog entry and here it is.

TACA had some nice liveries - all except the last one which I thought stank. Anyway the group has a really complicated history which I don't have time to cover in detail here so my blog focuses on TACA in the 70s and 80s. Enjoy:

Default Re: TACA: El Centromericano One-Elevens

Richard - I am a great fan of the BAC One-Eleven and have nearly every one made in 1/400, including this pair. As a teenager, I used to regularly visit the BAC factory at Bournemouth/Hurn and take photos of any new One-Elevens outside for flight testing. On a cold and damp February day in 1967, I encountered YS-17C in the delivery scheme parked outside, so was delighted when Aeroclassics made this model of it.
