OT - Where to buy Airliner World Magazine in Los Angeles?
I was wondering does anyone know where I could find Airliner World Magazine in the Los Angeles/Orange County area? I was just at the local Borders bookstore and they don't sell it anymore. If anyone knows where I could get it from I would appreciate it!

Forget the big chains
My favorite newsstand is Bungalow News in Pasadena. It's on Colorado Blvd near Lake and has the best selection I've ever seen. The guys who work there are very nice and will be happy to help you with anything.
Here is the website http://www.bungalownews.com/
It's not the greatest web page in the world, but the store is truly worth the trip.
While you're in the neighborhood why not go across the street and check out the used and new CDs and vinyl at Canterbury Records? While you're in the neighborhood doing all this shopping you're bound to get hungry, so treat yourself to some delicious sushi and other Japanese treats at Sachi Sushi
(Sorry to sound like the Pasadena chamber of commerce, but these are my old haunts and I really miss them!)

OK... I'll go with KJC here... Anything in Pasadena is worth a look, and I know for a fact that Bungalow News is a real find! Run don't walk to Pasadena and make some nice discoveries... and have a beer and Fish n' Chips at Barney's on Colorado. You'll be happier than when you walked in!

I have seen this magazine at Borders Books. You also may want to try Tower Records.

Actually I used to hang out there when I was an undergraduate at UC Irvine. The Tower Records (On Newport Blvd. if I remember the street correctly) there has a huge selection of magazines, so you might try that too.

Just as long as you don't hang out in Newport Beach, we will have no problem.
It is hard enough worring if I will run into you when I am in Denver.
By the way, have you been to Colpar lately? I was there yesterday and now they have all their overpriced models locked behind glass in a case. Have to ask for help if you want to look at them. Screw that! I don't like to have some yahoo standing over mee while I look at a model. Forget that crap. One more reason to buy online.

You were an Anteater? Let me guess you were in Med School or an Engineer?
Yeah, the Tower records in on Newport Blvd at 17th. There is also a Virgin Megastore down the street at Newport and Harbor Blvd. That is the store that sells the Hats that say Virgin Megastore Newport Beach - although it is in Costa Mesa!

Interesting illustration. What kind of jets fly into John Wayne? Do widebodies fly there?

The other choice is to go to LA and hit one of them big newsstands on the streets. I think there is one on Fairfax, Sunset Blvd. and Hollywood Blvd.

Nothing bigger then the 757 for passenger augmented with 737's, A320, RJ's, and MD-80 series airliners. FedEx I hear flys the A310 I believe as well. You will see a lot of general aviation aircraft as well, although you will not see as much as it use to have. Great airport for spotting. Nothing like watching the 7am morning line up for runway 19L.
I remember when only two major airlines served the airport, Air California with their 737-200's and Hughes Airwest, with their banana DC-9's. Oh those were the days!

Thanks guys
I forgot to add: from the illustation above this airport does look very crowded and there isn't much empty spaces around. How long is the rwy 19R? I visited Long Beach airport once and in contrast to John Wayne it did look a lot more spacious. Maybe because of the MD/Boeing plant over there?
Another interest thing about Long Baech airport is no jetways! amazing. The terminal building is tiny and looks old fashion
For an airport with a 10000+ foot runway shouldn't they build better terminals to serve more carriers? Hey it could complete with LA if they did!
