Thank the Lord they are mostly small birds. I can get caught up on the biggins' from last month.

Though I will say the Mexicana DC-10 does have some nice lines, great color. This from an anti-classics guy.

This is a web forum for the discussion of 1:400 die cast models. Every month somebody 'announces' the new releases of all or most of the manufacturers including Aeroclassics. Generally speaking those release announcments are NOT exclusively revealed here and are quoting or copy and pasting information already revealed elsewhere (normally a sales e-mail from an AC dealer).

To have a go at the original poster for passing on such information is somewhat childish I'd say. Andrew, if you choose to come on DAC just to lambast other posters and run down the competition then I'd suggest (for the benefit of those who use these forums for genuine model talk) you stick to posting on the other forum where people tend to hang on your every word more so.

Too many grown men acting like kids here !

No but in certain quarters it appears to be classified information. As said by the man himself, it's a public forum...who cares ? I presume it's just a matter of time before AC sales are limited to fully vetted and approved individuals, let alone dealers !

That list will break my bank! I can't believe I am reading so many of my 'holy grails' in one month's releases! At last the Fokker F27 mould's potential is being realised after so many requests. Two gorgeous Caravelles there also. I know Andrew is mad that one of his dealers has leaked this out before they are officially announced, but wow what a fantastic list!! Having said that, pics of all these are up on AirplaneReplicas site:

But to talk models again... What a great selection this month, I love the Aer Lingus and Air UK Fokkers, a green top Lingus release in 1:400 at last and hopefully the first of many more in that livery.

I used to see that blue Air UK livery at GLA a lot in the 80's one of my favourite all time liveries in fact. The DC-10 selection also is excellent, what chance a British Caledonian or BA Landor soon ? It would also be great to get a Tristar mould as good as the DC-10 (nudge, wink etc...)

I thought I might have to file for bankruptcy when I saw the list but after checking the liverys, I chose nothing because the liverys were too early in time, I would have liked the new livery Cyprus Airways and last Air UK livery, but nice selection.

As for Andrew he can't control the internet but If you want to be in the loop Arin its best not to exploit it.

Excellent set of releases this month. As for the early announcement, perhaps Aeroclassics can request that all dealers hold off on the mass Email to customers, until the approved spokesperson makes it public knowledge on the forums? I think the displeasure comment should have been made in private.

Alternatively try talking to whichever dealer leaked the info over a week ago. The original poster has done nothing wrong here (IMHO).

It's the same dealers, who habitually abuse the privileged info, yet complain when they're kept out of the loop.
Still looking for the happy medium!!

These are some great releases and I'd love to get hold of the Mesaba F-27, Air UK F-27 and Tunisian Caravelle. Shame AC models are so hard to get in NZ and Waffle doesn't stock them (his shipping rates are sensible). AirplaneReplicas rates look shocking ($40 for 2 models!! when Waffle can do about 6 for $28).

Does anyone know of an AC stockist with sensible postage rates?

I think all those who stock AC are only charging what their post office dictates.

Surely you don't expect a dealer to buy an AC model from their distributor, for say $25, offer it to you for $35 ($10 profit), then sent it to you for $15 when the post office will charge him/her $26.

Why don't you try CAM Australia? They're close by! There are numerous Asian based dealers too, and several on US West coast, such as Jet Collector, Just Plane Fun, & Eztoys!!

No I expect them to have websites that automatically tell me how much postage is without me having to guess or hope that they are fair when they charge me $100 for 5 models and promise to give me a refund if postage is less! Maybe I'm just spoilt by Waffle's great site?

Thanks for the suggestions though, I may try CAM and did e-mail airplanereplicas who to be fair have been quick and helpful and do actually charge sensible postage albeit through the charge your card and then pay you back afterwards route.

We all know that many ac stockists on ebay charge silly pricing for postage.

CAM don't even list which AC models they have on their website which doesn't fill me with much hope! Still I have e-mailed them to see what they have.

It's only 2150 Kilometers to Sydney from Auckland,an afternoon maybe in the row boat. Seriously though,it is a great deal closer than North America. I can certainly back Andrew with the postage rates. I know for a fact, that AirplaneReplicas has never charged me a single penny more than it cost Zareh to ship.

Thanks. I was able to get the NW and UK F-27s from eztoyz (thanks arinmuk) where both models are only $32 and postage for both to NZ was $14.

AirplaneReplicas have a good range though and Zareh was very helpful so I may well shop with them for other models.

Excellent,as long as you found the models you want. We have been to Eztoyz on our San Diego trip. He has a few models on display. I believe my bill came in at around $400.00. To get away with that,it did cost me a nice dinner for my wife that evening.

If it makes any difference, last month zareh refunded 5 USD which was the extra amount on the shipping that paid. I cannot ever think of one occasion where Zareh has charged 10 cents more on postage than the actual value.

I was really looking forward to this, but it has quite some flaws, which i'll need to correct.. Let me explain which features i am missing on HB-JLS, because i flew on LS' sister LR recently and looked closely at the new livery:

Model picture: AirplaneReplicas.Com - The Source For 1/400 Models - Swiss International A320 - (Powered by CubeCart)

1st picture shows: Wrong cockpit windows: LX has silver window frames, the sensors below the 'W' are silver, not circled with red..
2nd picture shows: No exit markings on the emergency exits, no red T markings below the reg and nose
3rd picture shows: No name, by the way JLS is named: Niederhasli which is printed even bigger on the nose (look at the jp pics)
4th picture shows: winglets are white, not grey - no yellow flap track fairing tips..

To me the cockpit windows are the biggest flaw, plus the grey wintip fences, which could have been done correctly after looking at one picture of the real thing.. Paying 35USD or more for an A320 should result in a flawless model.. The fact, that AC's LH D-AIRX had completely wrong colored wings stopped me from buying it, but i'll go for this LX and convert it to JLR this time as i don't think it's a sample picture..

Nobody is blameless; that's the way of the world!

I know under Obummer, he has taught us all to blame anyone else, like Bush, but clearly that just doesn't hold water any more.

I appreciate the comprehensive list AC comes out with every month. I feel they do the Airbus nb fleet the best. I hope they will eventually come out with the 737NG and E70/75, E90/95 since so many of us have been waiting a long time for someone to come out with these in the 400 scale.

I will be ordering the SWISS A320 for now. I hope AC will also come out with the A319 and A321s, in the current, revised block letter livery and the Swiss International scheme.

An incoherent response, distracting attention from the fact that you're the one who committed the foul here by lashing out needlessly at somebody. There's some irony in there somewhere.

Great releases this month. Caravelles, UTA DC-10, some F-27s and maybe the Syrian Air. My banker won't be happy !

Glad to see a Caravelle get some action. I cant believe its been half a century + since the Caravelle flew, and all one can get is the same series III/VI Avon engined airplane!......in 400 or 200 scale. Crazy.

Can't agree more. Tons of T7s or A330s and still no Caravelle 10 or 12 !

The Lixair F.27 LX-LGA ... can't read what's printed ... but should be Prince Henrí

The Luxair F.27 LX-LGB ... should be named "Prince Jean" ... "Prince Guillaume" was used on a 732 and an F50 ... but never on this F27

same for LX-LGJ ... which shouldn't have any name on the nose as clearly seen here ... I think the model has the name "Princess Marie-Astrid" ... which is another 732 not an F27

error probably comes from reading google search results, which show abbreviated page content, without actually clicking on the links themselves

Would dearly love some of these but have now just about given up.
So few are produced, I cannot get 2 of the previuos BEA heralds at a retail price.
With current economy I cannot afford to pre order or buy all on release.
Surely I am not alone on this?

At least gemini 200 re release if models are popular.

I fully sympathise, that's the nature of Aeroclassics unfortunately. Whenever they release a multiple batch of British Airways or Aer Lingus stuff, it's like the bell going off in a fire station. Had to resort to e-bay to get one of the recent BA 737's as the dealer screwed up my order.

That's the difference between a "collectible item", and a mass produced toy.

AeroClassics produces fine collectibles.

And I respect that

But collectibles are no use if you can't buy them in the first place.

Just because something is produced in numbers it doesn't make it not collectable or a toy - it is the quality of its production that matters. Certainly the production runs on some AC models are seemingly stupidly small, but nowadays it seems AC doesn't want to say how many models are produced anyway. By your logic surely something can only be truly collectable if the number existing is known?

Model manufacturing seems a bizarre business where end customers are merely tolerated and not valued. It's almost as if some of the manufacturers want to go out of business by being rude to clients, ignoring their wishes (or at least not undertaking market research), producing tiny production runs and openly slagging their customers.

Since AC itself is not involved in the after-sales market I fail to see why the collectability of the models is an issue for them other than for massaging their vanity. Surely it would be in the interest of both the manufacturer and customers to produce enough models of popular releases like the BEA Heralds for everyone who wants one.

I might add that people who collect 1:400 models to make money on them at some future date are in my opinion foolish and wasting their time!

Can't agree more, although I wouldn't generalise to the whole diecast aircraft industry. And don't forget that Mr K makes his money in Putinland, gives you an idea of what he thinks business and customer care are...
