Thumbs up NEW RELEASE: DW SR 747-257 Genéve

Another release from Tucano Line. Very nice in delivery colours for Swissair. I'd love to see a special version with a chrome belly.

Angry ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!

Do you think we could get some more Swissair,Sabena and Lufthansa models anytime soon? Yes they are some nice models but S**T there are alot more out there than just these airlines. Mix it up a little bit and it wouldn't be such a burn out seeing the same airlines over and over again.

Question Special limited release?

As for the special box design:
The printing on the box says that this model is a limited model (1000 pcs) of an shop (Expertrains Stefan Amacher) in Geneve/Switzerland.
Also can be read that this is model 'no. 1'.
So I guess that this is not an standard Tucano-release and will not be sold by every dealer - maybe it will be only sold by this special Swiss shop!?

Yeah the box is nice. I like it more than the plane and I'm Mr. EuroWhite!

Will get the Sabenas and LH's before this one.

Does that mean that this model will retail for at least 3X its actual value?

Just to clarify:
The model is "limited to 1,000 pcs" until those are all sold then, there will be 1,000 more and later 1,000 more and so on.

The box design is very nice indeed and who knows, if it gets here in Asia, I'll probably get it but not at anything above regular price. What dave said is true, with Dragon you can't tell whether they're gonna re-release it.

Do you collect boxes?

I like the plane!!!
I will buy this one because I like this SR 747.
I have it in good memory!!!
Otherwise I wouldn´t do it.

Buy what you like! That´s it.

Lightbulb Box Collecting

If DW or GJ were really smart, they would start selling their boxes!

I like this Swissair color scheme better than what followed (especially superior to the final scheme). If this is a 747-200, why are there only three windows in the lounge section? I thought -200s had rows of windows up there.

This model looks to be DW's attempt to compete with the GJ/Schuco partnership by releasing a standard Swissair 747 in a non-standard DW box, limit it to 1000 and claim it to be 'special.' Then, once the hype builds up and all the 'limited' stock is sold at an inflated price, they will release the chrome-belly version, pissing off all their loyal collectors with yet another funny-monkey release.

Dave is such a cynic. Everybody knows DW models are all limited - limited to what they can sell.
