Question 1:400 Ndizani VS 1:200 CX 744 Premium

Someone pointed out that the Ndizani will cost around USD 40+. Compared to CX 1:200 premium models listed on Cathay Shop EXcitement at USD 44.00

What is wrong with that?

Note that the CX Premium comes with Rubber Wheels, Spin Engine Fans, and Working Wheels Suspention.

Nothing's wrong with that!!!

Just buy

I hope that is not a typo and we can get an affordable nice looking plane for once.

Regards!!!

P/S: I doubt that the info that got to you is correct. Usually a Premium sells for no less than US$160.00 (Small models such a 727 or a 737)

It could be that this particular model is a 1/200 Non Premium and that would explain the low price. Now, NP models have clear cockpit moving fans and the landing gear rolls. (no shock absorvers/suspention)

The CX premium series indeed sell for USD 46(HK$ 360). My mistake. But still at a very good price.

Check out the site:

http://www.cathaypacific.com/intl/pr...7009-1,00.html

Both the B777 and the B747 is available at HK$ 360

I thought only the A330 & B744 cost HK$360. the B777 had not been released yet although many request was sent to both Herpa & CX!

Garuda -

I think your confused over the 'Premium' vs 'Non-Premium', because no 'Premium' will sell for $46. I purchased in April that 747 so-called 'Premium', but it's not from CX.

Buy it and you will find out, but you will be disappointed!

I think the CX Shop is the one that get me confused. I simply quote what is saying on the website:

Premium Series- B747-400 Model (1:200)
Item Code MKAC744P200
Description Beautifully and precisely made in 1:200 scale, plastic ABS material with expert true-to-life detailing. Spinning turbine fans & Landing gear with moving wheels are available.
Item Unit 1 piece
Unit Price HKD 360

Premium Series- A330-300 Model (1:200)
Item Code MKAC330P200
Description Beautifully and precisely made in 1:200 scale, plastic ABS material with expert true-to-life detailing. Spinning turbine fans & Landing gear with moving wheels are available.
Item Unit 1 piece
Unit Price HKD 360

No words on Clear Cockpit??? Is that the difference between Premium and Non-Premium HW 1:200? The Cockpit?

Has anybody ordered these models from EXcitement? If it turn out to be non-premium, we can sue CX for misleading information.

Even the box says 'Premium', but it's not!

Here are the differences that someone posted earlier this year:

BOXES
Premium - Nice box w/contoured foam.
Non-Premium - Oversized standard Herpa box and two piece plastic-sandwich that rubs the model raw. Herpa, put the model in a bag!! The box is soooo big that it looks a bit odd, almost like a box for a store display.

DETAILS
Premium - Many many many details that if you are not a pilot or frequent flyer you probably didn't know they existed.. Many things are painted yet items like antennas, lights, etc are actually molded plastic in the appropriate color.
Non-Premium - About 1/3 of the details, no molded antennas, etc. All details are painted.

COCKPIT WINDOWS
Premium - Plastic clear glass w/seats
Non-Premium - Plastic clear, no seats..

ENGINES
Premium - Fans spin very easily and at any angle. More exhaust detail.
Non-Premium - Fans spin w/a bit more effort, must hold model at the right angle so the blades don't rub on the engine and stop from spinning.

LANDING GEARS
Premium - every detail is here.. lights are little mirrors, rubber tires that spin, rear landing gears have springs to make them pivot like the real thing. All gears have shock absorbers that work.
Non-Premium - Plastic wheels w/printed hub-caps. No springs, rear wheels pivot, but not w/springs.

CX advertises the Herpa as "premium" to differentiate it from their "non-premium" series (Wooster). However, by Herpa's definition, the CX model is a non-premium.

I would like to add that the premium series have clear passengers window, an exquisite detail that help to quite justify the price. Now on the premium series there are some better planes than others. 737 o/c Lufthansa is far the best one. Some others are not that well finished.
You should visit the 1/200 forum and check it out

After reading this thread and checking the website, I think Bill hit it on the head. Premium doesn't go for 50.00.

I second with what Bill has posted on the CX 1:200 model.
