Exclamation Gjets Southwest 737 July Release

I am looking at the photo of this new release and am a bit concerned with what I am seeing on the leading edge of the vertical tail section.
It almost looks like paint damage, im hoping its just a photographic illusion but I've never seen this before in a stock photo.

Does anyone know what this is, and if all copys of this model will have it??

That might just be the way the lighting is working with the color, or maybe that particular pictured model has some paint damage, who knows. I'm sure if it is damaged, all models won't be like that, they don't normally mass produce models with damage. :P

The real thing has it, too!

There is not just the silver edge. If you click on the picture above it needs an extra click on "large" - then you can see three grey areas. On the model they turn out more clearly.

Yeah, I see that now, also got a better view of it from a pic of this AC in the paint hangar.
I still plan to buy this release, but hopefully it wont be as dramatic in normal room lighting.

I suppose this will sell pretty well once they release it in 1/200 , too...
Will they put "Warrior" on the production batch ??

Well, that photo confirms it, I still think the lighting makes it stand out a little more than intended. I might grab one of these SW 1:400s.

It doesn't look too bad from this angle and lighting. I think all will be ok.
Still anxiously awaiting my shipment.

This thread is proof positive that it is impossible to please everybody regardless of how much detail these models have.

Nick I do agree with you on that some of us can take it a bit to far as for the rolling wheels thing. I just wanted to know since I have in older Gemini release if it doesnt its all good Im not picky about that stuff.

I never said I wasn't pleased with this release. Hell, I bought two copies of it before this thread started.

I had just never seen that show up on a stock photo before and wanted to see what other members thought it was.

As for rolling wheels, I dont "play" with these models, they are stationary. Even if they have rolling wheels I never use them. They would make fun toys..but expensive toys. I spend $5 on a Daron model when my son wants to play airport with me and not sweat it.

Hello assknocker the stock photo was indeed strange, the rolling wheels is not a big deal for me but I did want to know if the new Gemini release's have this feature as I only have 1 old Gemini 737-800 release.

But it is a very nice model hope to get one myself soon. my post was not directed towards anyone in particular hope you can post some pics when you get them. and I don't think Nick was pointing out someone in particular too but just that some of us collectors can get too picky with a model and miss out.

I recieved my order today! These models are beautiful.
The stock photo greatly exaggerated the color differences on the tail section.
Also the "southwest.com" is stenciled on the winglets as opposed to GJs release of N445WN. A pleasant bonus for sure.
Somebody asked if "Warrior ONE" would be stenciled on the nose. It is on both port and starboard sides.

I clearly need to upgrade my camera...I was hoping to post some nice close up shots, but its not working out too well. Here are a few of the decent shots.

It is a sharp looking model. I received mine today and am very happy with it. I almost want to order another before they all sell out.

Yep probably would have been more expensive to color them in the factory? just a wild guess here.

the 'paint damage' areas are, as pointed out, supposed to be there. If I'm not mistaken they are plain light grey on the real 737 and are in fact the HF radio antennae...

Well, I guess this HAS shown up in other stock photos before.
I have seen this photo of GJSWA469 many times before and never noticed it.
Sorry for raising a fuss over nothing.
