Default Some diorama fun.

Hello all, this is the military version of my bedroom thread in the civil airport section. Just wanted to post a coupla pics over here, its just some fun and not to be taken seriously. It also fgives me the chance to show what can be done with the 1/200 Herpa HAS in 1/400 scale. This is just the top section pulled out. Apologies, you will have to click to link to the pics on the other thread.

Looks good, hopefully AC will build some green C-47s to go with your collection. I know I wish I had some. Did you make your taxiways, runways and parking ramp your self?

Well, Scottish Aviation were a MAJOR DC3/C47 overhaul centre so any DC3s will be fine for me. The 50s/60s MATS schemes will be more in keeoping for me. Thats the Herpa C-118 by the way, it is gorgeous. It has metal wings too, I just need a tranche more MATS machines to go with it. Then I will do a Prestwick AB diorama though that needs some SC-54Ds too!
Now, as to the ramps. I bought a KLM 1049 on ebay nad it came with the buildings and a piece of MDF, painted and pencilled to look like a ramp. I have modified it very slightly, removing the lines etc. but that is essentially how I recieved it. i dont have the space to do a full diorama yet. The concept was for a mid 60s small base with lots of LOGAIR flights, but i have only shown the shots of the mil stuff here. Gotta love those supplementals, now where is that Universal L-188 and Saturn Jet Trader?!!!!
By the way, Champ, the P-3 hangar is the 1/200 scale Herpa Fighter hangar, its in 2 parts, this is just the top part. I think it looks great in a basic sort of way. The rest is a bit too bulky.
