Default Gj250 Psa Md-82

I have never done a review before as I'm new to all of this, but here I go! My first diecast collectable (aside from my Texaco set) was this real gem of a plane, the GeminiJets PSA MD-82 in 1/250 scale. This plane was the reason that I started collecting. I saw her sitting on the Chief Pilot's desk where I work and I decided then and there to get one of my own!
In this scale, the MD-82 is very nicely depicted with tons of detail. It features retractable gear and an assortment of spare tires! The color scheme is right on the money.
Drawbacks..well, the retractable gear on my Chief Pilot's plane are broken, and I could see why when I received mine. They are rather tight and the mountings are a bit flimsy. I decided to keep mine in the box after the initial picture was taken.
Another drawback..apparent non-interest in the scale. I don't care, though. I like the plane and that's what counts. Don't get me wrong, I won't collect this scale exclusively!
Bottom line..nice plane, I like it..that's what matters most! I logged a lot of time on this airline (PSA..Poor Sailor's Airlines) as a passenger when I was..well..a poor sailor!

Nice review! I second all observations, especially on the gear. This mould and livery really need to be released in GJ's new 200 line, as their A-320's and 737's are superb. PSA is my favorite airline, so much so that I did an entire airport diorama of KSAN based in the late '70's and early '80's. Citation Driver? Me too. I'm on the 560XL, whatchu on?

Hi Dylan..
Currently I am on a 500 and a 550 for my company. I'll probably upgrade to the 650 shown in my avatar this year, or go with the Hawker 800XP (both as an SIC). Depends on a lot of factors.
Nice to meet you! See you in the pattern.

You didn't happen to take half of the BYU basket ball team from VGT to PVU on the 12th did you?

Wasn't me. I'll ask my buddies if they did the trip. I normally fly into and out of HND or LAS if I find myself in 'Lost Wages.'

They were in a Citation II ending in WP based out of Carlsbad. I took the other half home to PVU. Cap had a military "do" and the FO was a tall, young guy and looked like Norm McDonald.

Sounds like my boys, but they were flying from PVU to VGT on the 14th, not the 12th..and the tail number is wrong. Other than that, you described them to a "T". Norm McDonald..I gotta tell him that one! hahahaha!

My bad, it was on the 15th back to PVU from VGT, can't remember the tail number exactly, but it had 3 upside-down looking triangles on the tail.

Hate to interrupt your flyboys conversation, but I'll check with ADI today, and see if we can't get you a replacment PSA MD-80 for your Chief Pilot's desk.I'll write back in the morning.

BTW Dylan, Your stuff is inroute, and you still owe me a flight.:-)

Thank you kindly, but my Chief Pilot has since given it to his kids to (gulp) play with!!! He has a 1/100 scale DC-10 with old-school widget livery from PacMin now. Again..thanks!
