This looks like a nice model. Perhps Gemini could maintain their 1/250 line as a niche market with producing DC 3s. They would never run out of subjects or attractive color schemes!

They might as well because, like their website ,this range ran out of steam long ago. Read the blurb they publish about the 250 range and you will see that apaert from a DC3 (Jetliner ?) mould every 6 months or so, they haven't produced anything in a year. I think they have held the pillow over the collectors face for long enough now to ensure the range is dead ? Time for them to move on to their new love, the 1:200 range.

I love this choice. Makes an excellent ast hurrah for this scale. It's a great historical, somewhat obscure carrier and one that will definitely interest a niche group of collectors.
Or course, you cannot keep a whole market segment alive on justa small niche. But that said, I'm getting this one. It'll be a good last 1/250. Look good next to the USAir MD-80. |

The much beloved DC-3s of Lake Central Airlines faithfully served the -burgs, -villes and -towns that dotted the airline's routes for nearly 18 years. The last DC-3 was retired in 1967, less than one year before merging with Allegheny in 1968.
Because of the airline's small route structure, it had the shortest average haul of the 13 local airlines. Of the 40 busiest routes served by the local carriers, Lake Central had none. Still, the airline and it's DC-3s led the industry with four minute turnarounds at their smaller stations. Probably the best looking color scheme for a DC-3, this one is on my list. |

I'm getting this one as well. I'd love to see Gemini do Piedmont soon.
