Question Gemini 1:250 Quality

I would like to buy a Gemini 250 models, but I wonder about their quality. I know that they landing gears can come in and out. Are there flaws in the gears sometimes? How is the overall quality. Are there any suggestions to which model I should get?

Thanks guys

Default Excellent quality

I'm very happy with each of the Gemini 250's so far. I have been fortunate to acquire each of the 1/250's in this line and have no complaints. They are first rate and look excellent next to my collection of Aero Mini's.

I have all the DC-8s except the United DC-8F and the Delta and find there quality outstanding. Will probably be getting my first MD-80 with the AA coming out soon.

Thanks for all the help. I would like to buy one but I am stuck, should I buy two Herpa 1:500 models (which I collect) or one Gemini Jets 250 model.

The quality is fine. They don't come out with new ones very often so you should have few problems keeping up with them. They have 4 moulds on current release (two are DC8's, a 737 and an MD83/88). As their website says : "With the introduction of our 1/250th scale line of airliners, collecting has never been more exciting."

Agree - Gemini 1/250 are great. If Inflight 200 had the same type of gear, would buy them, but they are removable - prefer the Gemini 1/250 as a result - sturdier

Default Think they are great!

I've been extremely impressed by the overall quality and realistic look. I do find opening the gear initially to be a bit of a chore. And inevitably I seem to lose one of the tires, although I have always found them.
On subsequent ones I'm going to open it over a light colored surface in a very controlled area so that when it happens, finding it will be easier.
I also find their stands to be very cumbersome. There has to be something better than that 'rube goldberg' set up with the miniature screw having to be put into the bottom will trying to gain leverage.
Otherwise the models themselves are great.

Quality isn't bad. I have two DC-8s. The UA -8F is very nice however the DC-8-61 EA is a lemon. It isn't put together to well, the stabs angle is too high.

Too bad funbird about your negative experience about the EAL...I think it is one of the nicest pieces so far in the G250 line. As an EAL lover, one would think it would automatically top my list...but there are so many choices in this range. Actually...the UAL freighter was so inspired and executed so well that it continues to lead the pack for me. I cannot believe that this one hasn't been gobbled up by collectors.

Still hoping for the Valujet MD80 in '06. Need to see the "critter" again

You should return that model to your retailer for a replacement! It shouldn't be like that...

I've super happy with all of the Gemini 250 models, I think the detail is even better than the 400 scale. I love how they send you a packet of extra tires. If anyone knows where I can get a DL DC-9-61 let me know, as it's the only one I don't have!

That's what I meant. One number off goes from a super stretched 4 engine aircraft to one that doesn't even exist!!

I love the Gemini Jets 250 line, however, I'd like to have more modern airline schemes, as well as the airline itself. Such as the 777, 757, A320, and possibly the 764. I would really like a L-188 in either the Eastern, or Northwest colors. I have a 1:250 scale GJ Continental 737-800 for sale. I also have an added free DW Delta 777-200. Click the link below..... Anyway, I absolutly love the 250's, but need the money.

I have the Eastern and United DC-8-61s.

1) The Eastern looks good and sits perfectly.
2) The United looks good, but the nose gear is slightly off of the ground.

Haa Ha, I love it! A 43 year-old jetBlue "captian", making over $150,000.00 a year needs to sell his $35.00 toy to raise some cash. You keep digging your hole jetblueballs, Ill keep throwing the dirt ontop of you!

I am a retailer, and I would be willing to sell you one.check it out, if you do not like it, send it back, and I will refund you're money no loss to you.

only one condition. You have to return it in the condition it was sent to you in. I have faith in this product that much. Let em know if you want it, and that goes for any other collector that wants to check out the 1/250's before you are "stuck" with it.Check it out, you'll like it.....

Cool

Just got American MD-80 my first MD-80 and DC-8-52 United Jet Freighter.
I have the UAL DC-8-61, Air Jamaica, Aero Mexico -52 and Eastern. I am hooked! Need to get Delta MD-80.

Now a TWA MD-80 would be great!
