Default Limited Edition???

That's a mighty fine looking model there. It almost looks like the real thing, especially with all the wing painting detail.

My only question is that they produced 1000 of these pups. That's quite a few for "limited edition" in this scale, if you ask me. I would think that about 500 would be the most they should produce, but this is almost as many as they produce in 1/400.

Any thoughts on this?

"Limited Edition" does not refer to the number made so much as it means that once the production run is complete, we will not rerun another X amount of pieces. Once done, that's all there will be.

Ugh!

And I had been trying to avoid adding another scale to my collection.
The AA 738 almost made me do it, but I resisted the temptation.

But this one looks really good, and as it appears there may not be any more AA MD-80s in the 1/400 realm any time soon, I may just have to snag this one!!

Looks great!!

Default I Give Up?

So which model is it that is coming out? AA or US? They both look great. The AA has been hyped for several months, but is the USAir available also?

Just noticed something on this otherwise great model. The "American" title on the right side is forward of, and not in-line with, the title on the left side. On the AA 737-800 1/250, the titles are in-line with each other as, I believe, they are in reality. Zach?

I noticed that also on mine. Seemed strange, but I just attributed it to maybe being that way on the MD's. Well..... I just surfed Airliners.net and checked quite a few examples of the AA MD-80's and noticed that all have the 'American' title equally distant from the cockpit windows on both sides.

I think this is quite a big mistake for a limited edition model.
