Default Problem with American 737

This may sound really dumb folks but I gotta run this by somebody. My AA 738 has a transparent build-up on it that I was able to remove by scratching it off. I had set it on my desk a few weeks ago and it was spic-n-span. Now it appears to have this film on it. no chemical or other substance was used around the model. When I attempted to remove it some of the cheatline paint came off too. This was done with very little effort; no scrubbing! What concerns me most is that this "film" could not have come from my fingers because I removed the substance from some tough to touch areas like the base of the vertical stabilizer. I can't help but think that this model may have more going on with the paint job than I care to imagine. Say it ain't so, GJ.
