I love this line of diecast aircraft and am excited about it's future. So far we've seen the following from Gemini Jets in 1/250 scale:
Douglas DC-8-61: Delta Douglas DC-6-61: United Douglas DC-8-50: AeroMexico Douglas DC-8-51: United (Freighter) McDonnell Douglas MD-83: Alaska McDonnell Douglas MD-88: Delta (Wavy Gravy) Boeing 737-800: American Boeing 737-800: Continental Boeing 737-800: Delta That's six different aircraft model types of the nine GJ250's that are out already and the two that are coming in May. My question for you is which other aircraft model types, besides these, do you think that Gemini Jets should create in this scale? You get five choices and it's just for the model types, not the airline, livery, etc. Let's leave that for another topic. Keep them in the modern jet era from the 60's until now. Here's my choices. 1. Boeing 747-400 2. Boeing 757-200 3. Bombardier CRJ 4. Airbus A320 5. Boeing 727-200 Thanks and hopefully, Gemini Jets will read up on this and maybe get an idea of what we would like to see in our collections from them. |

I think they would do well, and pull in a new audiance if they were to start a line of Russian airliners, i.e. IL-62, TU-134, IL-86, IL-96, YAK-42 and so on.

I'm just asking for aircraft types in this topic. We can get into airlines and liveries next time.

I know we have the 737-800's started, but let's add some winglets to them and really make them look good.

I could care less what you think TWA'hole!!!!!!!!!!!
Now you go back to your little cave where you dwell, take that big, stiff, 1:200 scale 747 that you love so much and... well... you know what to do with it. We have a forum here where we can enjoy this scale. Isn't that what you wanted before? You were so adamant about how we don't belong in the other forum, etc. Now we're gone and you have to troll over here and talk trash on something that doesn't concern your attention. Your showing up here only reaffirms my belief that you can't be any older than about 16 because that's how old you act. Buh Bye |

Do you think we'll see the RyanAir b737-800 or maybe this will be made exclusively for the Aviaion Retail Direct in UK ?!?

In response to ba43's original question, one would think that to keep in the spirit of the original Aero Minis that jets of the 50's through 70's be introduced. My choices would be:
1. Caravelle 2. Comet 3. Convair 880 4. 727-200 5. L1011 |

L-1011/DC-10/727-200 first, MD-11/727-100 later.

You know what I would really like to see...that has never been done before?
How about a pictoral essay about how one of these diecast models are actually produced from start to finish. I am really curious about what the moulds look like, what the castings are like when they come out unassembled, when they are put together, and the finally the finished product. IS anyone else interested in seeing the birth of a model, and would any harm be done for a manufacturer like Gemini to show collectors how the intricacies how they are made? I think it would be fascinating and something different than the typical posts here. |

Kind of hard to predict...but I hope we see things in the GJ 250 range that is not seen in the 200 scale...or sorely lacking. For instance, Since there are airframes as the caravelle now in 200 scale, I don't think I would be so inclined to reinvest it in G250. And although I like the VC10 very much, there are examples of this aircraft from both Inflight LE and Aero mini.
I do think Gemini is on the right track like it was about 2000, producing a blend of classic and contemporary airframes, which it later got away from in its 400 offerings but is now starting to do again a bit.. Since this is a new scale, they would probably serve their interest well by having offerings that are popular but not too mainstream. Certain regional aircraft have been long needed and would probably spark interest. There is the need for a very good L-1011 mould, which would get alot of mileage in terms of schemes. With Inflight getting set to develop the Dc-10 mould this year, don't know about that one right away, as in similar situations with the 747 and 727 families. Russell Epstein, once advised me to just just enjoy collecting and to not worry about the political stuff so much. Well, I've been trying to refine multiple collections and make sense out of everything...to tie it all in together and just enjoy it all...Let the manufaturers try to figure out what we're going to want! ![]() Last edited by Flying Ace; 05-09-2005 at 02:23 PM. |
