Thats good. Real good.

I hope one day they do the 727-100.
They should . It would go down well in Herpaland: `Pan American' 727-100s ruled West Germany's
skies on the Berlin services.

Niels,
Its interesting you should mention the 100!
I had a memorable(i.e.horrible) flight in 1966 from Berlin to Munich in which we were diverted for bad weather to Nuremberg.
I had always wondered if it had been a 200 or a 100, and later found that the 200's came after that date.
Liked the idea of SJ releasing a 100 with the earlier titles.Would love to see that in a Herpa Premium model.
I hope for a major breakthrough someday from Herpa in releasing NEW moulds. So far the releases have been "rehashings" of the old LH series on the Premium side.
The only fault of the model is just in front of the cockpit, as you see the sandwich, where the blue and the white meet.
I took a lot of closeups of this area so tht everyone saw it in detail.
For me it does not detract.
If the plane had a "black mask" antiglare panel there as 707's did, it would have been less noticeable. But then it might not have been prototypical, I guess. Will look into that detail to see what I find...

Default New mould maybe coming soon..

egonzinc,

Great pictures as always! Herpa has stated the following regarding a new mould:

"In 2002, there will be a new type as a Premium model, but at the moment, we can't reveal much more. And there will be another Airbus model..."

The suspense!!

Maybe I'm reading too much into this but would that be TWO new moulds??
The one first mentioned nd "another airbus model"?
Of course he "other Airbus" could be another A300.
But could you imagine maybe an A310? Ahhhhhhhh!

Hope so. Or an airbus narrowbody will be also nice.
Need more narrowbodies for scale!
Imagine a Premium 707!! THAT would be awesome.

Well, I think that would be too good to be true. I read
- a new mould (my guess is DC10-30)
- a new A300 model (since it was suspended in series II) My guess is Air France. That would be not too funny since it is almost white (like the Emirates plane).

Have a nice day

Nobbe & Egon...

I agree w/Nobbe...my guess it is a new mould, and then a A300 model... i guess they could do mods to the A300 mould to make a A310?

Not sure if my money is on a DC-10, although I did hear that is the mould they were closest to completing years ago. Here is what Herpa was going to make..this came from a very old Herpa LH Modell Edition brochure.. So maybe anyone of these could be coming! I want a AA Lightening Bolt DC-3!! or the 707!!

1990 - Lockheed L-1049G, Super Constellation, Boeing 707-300B
1991 - McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30, Airbus A320-200
1992 - Airbus A340, Convair CV-440, Boeing 737-500, Airbus A310-300
1993 - Douglas DC-3, Convair CV-340, Lockheed L-1649A Starliner

A310 would have to be brand new, an adapted A300 would be terrible.
Wing different, everything different ...

Eduardo,
Das ist wirklich synchronic!
My German relatives are in Nurnberg
(another connection here: Herpa is not far away I think).
But in 1966 I had my first 727 flight in a Pan American -100
to what is now near your part of the world:
from JFK to St. Thomas USVI, landing on the old 4600 foot runway-with-the-hill-at-the-end.
Also memorable for the horribly hard hard stop at the -very- end of the runway!
And my first view of Caribair...but thats another forum/thread/story!.....

Since we are all speculating,
let me throw the wild card,
and guess that since Herpa started its Premium line,
Germany has become unified.
So imagine if Herpa appealed to its once East German customers and did something like a Premium Interflug IL-62.
Hoo boy!

Niels
Neat stuff, and IL62 eh?
Well we can all dream, but to tell you the3 truth I would like to see a narrowbody and a 707 first on my list...
I remember the short runway...and the TCA 727 that trying to land bounced a couple of times and then when trying to abort didn't make it. Only a couple of fatalities which is bad but everyone else got out before the plane was gutted by fire.
On that 66 flight I remember that my mom DID NOT want to get on the plane again after landing on Nurenberg. I was too young(10) to be scared... today I guess I would have taken the train but I would have taken the train anyway as I love trains in Europe!

Urghhh!!! If they're thinking 4 rear-mounted engines then there can only be one choice - the original, the best, the unmatched Super VC10 - final BOAC scheme. That would be cool!

A Herpa Premium SVC-10 would be amazing, but since there is no German connection for Herpa's home market.......
