Cool New Pics: Hobby Master Air Canada Viscount

New pictures are up on Hawkone's website:

HobbyMasterCollector.com

Looks like the wing to fuselage seam is much improved!

The Red Is AWFUL Bright, But Sexy Looking Model Otherwise.
Yesterday I Went To The Clost And Pulled Out My 1/400 Air Canadas Including The Gen II
Vangaurd, 741, L-1011,727, And 3 DC-8s.

It is bright but then on a sunny summer's day that livery could look bright...errr...with the right shade/polarization of sunglasses on.
Imagining a 1/200 Vanguard from them now....

It Never looked Bright Like That EVER. Polarizers Actually Make Colors Darker. If Anything The Initial Vangaurds And Viscounts Were Darker Than What Most People Percieve Air canada's Color Schemes. Initially The Red Was Quite Dark, But Air Canada Didn't Like it, So It Was Changed. I Think Some 30-40 Aircraft Were Painted With The Little Known Dark Red, Mostly DC-9s And DC-8-50s.
However In 1980 There Were TWO DC-8s Painted This Bright By Mistake In The
Paint Shop.

I've Been Around Long Enough To See The Changes.

I heard the colour was called Fire Engine Red. Model looks good. Another addition to my Air Canada 70's livery.

Hmm... is it my imagination or have the fixed the flat-as-a-pancake wing problem? Kind of hard to tell from this 3/4 rear angle. The livery sure looks nice, but I like the polished metal of the Herpa 1/200 Viscount a letter better than this.

Not much of a dig when I get something via email and post it the same day. Vintage Wings puts out a lot of good historical articles, mainly warbird related but being free, the price is right.

At least the post was a bit informative unlike a lot of the others that are IMO space wasters like "I agree"
