Hi all,
I'm new in this hobby and are looking to collect mostly Cathay Pacific's 1:200 scale models and have taken a look at CXitement shop's offerings. Are those offered there plastics or diecast metal? I would really like diecast models instead of plastics ![]() Please enlighten me! Thanks! |

Welcome to this forum Krizalis. I was just teasing you!!!
![]() ![]() ![]() We've had a hot debate about this item some time ago and that sparked my previous reaction. I hope you'll enjoy your hobby and this forum ( aka 'the funny farm' ). I also prefer diecast, but that doesn't mean that plastic models are inferior. It's just something personal! One of my most cherished models is a plastic 747 by Herpa!!! But be warned; diecast models are getting more expensive...... So once again; welcome and enjoy..... |

Hi guys,
Thanks for the reply mate I don't mean to start a debate about plastics / diecast metal It is all about personal preference in my opinion. Some loves, plastics, some love metals, some loves both so it doesn't matter anyways ![]() So if XCitement is selling Hogan Plastics models, does that mean that those cathay pacific herpa 1:200 models sold in ebay are different from the ones in XCitement shop? Cuz I recently bought 1 from an ebay seller in HongKong and its a Herpa B777-300ER with registration no: B-KPA (haven't received it yet, still on its way).. and is the one I bought a plastic model or diecast metal model? Thanks!

being on ebay doesn't mean it's not out of cxitement shop, hence made by hogan.
I have the 773, not the ER, but I think the registration of the normal livery CX official 773ER is indeed KPA. There is talk of a diecast metal version to come out, but it's not yet available. I recommend anyone who wants a CX official model to get them directly from CXshop instead of evilbayers. |

I think KPA is a plastic Hogan built (not Herpa) 777-300ER in the standard new Cathay Pacific livery. They are the "new" style Hogans with good detail, although no emergency walkways or landing light detail.
CXcitement also sells 777-300ER 1/200 and 1/400 B-KPH "Asia's World City" for around $67 for the 1/200. Shipping from Hong Kong to the U.S. is around $25. All available on the CXcitement web site. Service was quick for me. I ordered Monday, had the model in hand on Thursday!!! Last edited by Charlie Alpha 757; 03-13-2010 at 11:09 AM. Reason: more info. |

Hi Charlie, thanks for the further details on the models from XCITE
![]() I ordered last week on wednesday and I'm in Malaysia, looks like it's gonna be 2 weeks before I will receive them.. probably because of bad postal service in M'sia

Hogan always made the CX models, even when they were marketed as "herpa".
(trying to avoid getting into the plastic/metal discussion, or the hogan/herpa one for that matter) |

Since these models are made by HG, are they shipped disassembled? Or are they fully assembled like a HE?

There fully assembled. All Herpa models, even the ones that are HG moulds, come assembled in those huge boxes
