Default What a LOT of 154

Another addition to the TU154 collection, made by Aviation 200 in LOT Polish Colour. Although I wish AV would fix the front landing gear, like the Phoenix Interflug.

Beatiful bird although probably i will wait for the Herpa version because i don't like specially that this model come without antennas.

OK, the antennae are missing - but still a nice model! I always liked the Russian 727 , especially in the LOT-livery. Compared to the liveries of other Eastern block airlines (Aeroflot, Balkan Bulgarian, Tarom etc.) this was really advanced at that time.

Gonna pick this one up from ARD this week! Love the model, despite missing antannae. Well, Tu-154 doesn't have many of them so it's not a big deal after all!

Hope Phoenix LOT Tu-134 is next!

But LOT took their Tu-154 in 1987, compared with BALKAN in 1972, so the liveries could not be compared in the years. In 1986 BALKAN introduced it's new livery which was far coulorful and stylish than LOT:

I was talking about the LOT-livery - not about the delivery of the TU-154 to LOT.

Wikipedia-quote:
"The current livery, with the large inscription LOT in blue on the fuselage front, and a blue tailfin, was introduced in 1977."

So I repeat again: For the late 1970s the LOT-livery was way ahead of other liveries seen on aircraft of Eastern block airlines.

And here's a picture from 1980 I found on a.net.

Especially on the photo from 1980 you could see leased from Aeroflot Tu-154B-2 which wears partially, above Aeroflot grey bottom fuselage part, new for this years LOT colours. But their first own Tu-154 (86A727) SP-LCA was made in 1986, as we could see from its msn. By this year BALKAN had this livery and i think it was more untraditional and beautiful than LOT, TAROM etc:

And AV200 model represents second and final livery of SP-LCA in LOT. Upon delivery -LCA mid engine duct was painted all blue as in case of Tu-154 leased from Aeroflot.

OK, i think LOT livery looks sharp, like BALKAN for me too., It is more matter of taste, than we could judge... In reality we have AV200 model of LOT, but it is pitty that there isn't BALKAN and some more liveries from the past to choose. I hope Balkan Holidays LZ-HMN will look great too, and by the end from the start it was BALKAN LZ-BTN, before to change its look like in my avatar Best regards to all!
