Nose looks F'ed up, will have to see it from another angle before I make my final decision. Is this on the Inflight mould, or is it all new?

Nose looks a little too pointy.

And do the engines nozzles (for lack of the appropriate term) look a little plain?

Yet still I REALLY want one of these.
But it'll have to wait until the budget recovers from the Delta and the American.

This is an age old question for me, but I would love to know how the manufactuers pick/justify a release...particularly the airline. The 727 was arguably THE most popular airliner ever until the 737NGs came out, and with the hundreds of choices to introduce a new mould, they pick FedEx?! I'm excited about the mould but completely dumbfounded by the choice of airline. If you owned or managed a model company wouldn't you pick a "homerun" for a new model release? This model looks a fine release, but wouldn't we all be going crazy if this were a Amercian, United, Northwest or Delta Widget release? As it is, it's sort of a ho-hum after thought to the AA MD-80 this month. I'm sure many are really excited about this release, but IMHO this would be a pre-order sell out if they'd have chosen a more popular airline....

Just arrived into the U.S. Will be going out to the retailers soon.
Very nice indeed. It is hush kitted and has lots of nice detail. Will make a nice
addition to your collections!! Order yours now as with the other "firsts" in the
GJ200 line, this one will surely be a sell-out.

gemini needs to take more pictures, or like a better angle. I debated buying the AS B738, but because I finally saw it in the store, thats what prompted me to buy it.

They did it right man relax ;-) Its the angle of the picture and the white fuselage against the light colored ground thats giving it the ilusion of being "screwed up"

I Don't Think It's The Jet-X Mould. For Starters The Nose Definitely Appears More Pointed Than the Jet-X, But Not Necessarily Screwed Up (High Angle On Light Background As Someone Mentioned)
The Tail Cone Is Smaller/Narrower As Is The #2 Duct Assy.
Engines Are Smaller & Exhaust Nozzles A Bit Plain & Long Particularly The #2. (No Retracted Reverse Thruster Buckets Comapred To J-X Version)
Also The Tail Fin Seam Is Filled In Very Nicely.

But You Need To See It In Person To make A Final Analysis.

I think that if you study the photo very closely you'll notice that there is a shaddow that gives the illusion that the nose is more narrow than it should be.

Damn, u beat me to it with the "plain" nacelle thing. Could tell straight away they were hushed.

I agree a no brainer would have been better guys, maybe there is a corporate release coming out with it. With the FX 75fs coming online, how long till these guys end up in VCV or another desert storage area?

As I said, guys....The nose is jacked the F up Looks like the head of a bloated crow. The rest of the model looks pretty good, and the hushkits on the #1 and 3 engines look very, very good.

it's hard to judge from the pictures as far as the nose is concerned.
still i might get one, this model actually looks quite good, and a hush-kit version makes it even more interesting.

Nose looks a little strange. Could just be the lighting. Otherwise, it looks good. Hush kits look good even though I'm not a big fan of them.

I've seen plenty of these flying in and out of Memphis...

Here's a slightly higher-rez version showing the nose profile ... it's pretty darned close IMHO ... may not be perfect, but certainly the REST of the rendition looks mighty impressive.

What really strikes me as accurate is the thickness (or should I say "thin-ness") of the wings as they taper outboard. That really gives it a sense of realism, as opposed to how thick they are on 1/400th scale.

Another strong point is how the door outlines are rendered - very thin - almost invisible! That's how they would look in true scale, even on the real plane. If you 'squint' looking at this model and used a little imagination, you could almost convince yourself that it is real!

However, comparing the nose to the 737, it appears that the 727's is still a bit too pointy. Why couldn't they just use the same profile for both?

Doesn't the NG737 have a different nose than the 727?

Same nose but different nose gears - likewise the same as the venerable 707-series.

They're only different on Gemini and Inflight models ...

(Note even the same forward cabin door)

Get over it. The nose looks PERFECT to me. Still the best 727 on the market! Now the Gemini Eastern Airlines 727-200 that I have is a little sharp, but that could be due to sanding variences. It looks like Gemini fixed this one.

Get over it. The nose looks PERFECT to me. Still the best 727 on the market! Now the Gemini Eastern Airlines 727-200 that I have is a little sharp, but that could be due to sanding variences. It looks like Gemini fixed this one.
Perfect? You clearly need glasses.

For the record the FedEx came out before the Eastern. This thread is exactly four months old.
