I like the picture of the athletes on the ramp stand at LHR with the cabin crew. I noticed the girls all wore their caps for it. Congratulations to our friends on the other side of the Pond for their wins!

The boffins had to come up with a specially designed silicone-based paint for exactly that reason - standard metallic paint would interfere with the electronics. Thus the slightly dull effect.

They probably would have painted on a real looking gold medal, but the stuffy IOC would have had a major coronary.

Thanks.

If they had been thinking about it, they should have supplied one with a reg ending in GM, for Gold Medal, BT, for British Team, or, OG, for Olympic Games.

Instead though, they had LD, London's Destiny/Dream

My favourite was the mens coxless 4's beating the Aussie boat in the last 250 metres!!

If Kelly Holmes was made a Dame after 2 gold medals in Athens, I hope the same goes for Becky Addington and also "Arise Sir Chris Hoy and Sir Ben Ainsley" wouldn't go amiss.

Well done to all the Team GB athletes for making this proud Brit cry with joy so many times.

With the anoraks this weekend.. is she still flying with her nose...?? .. no one seemed to know... or was it a once off flight..?

Was thinking, it would have looked far smarter to have an Olympics symbol on the side if the plane, but no doubt as that is all licenced, the fee would have been astronomical..
