Yeah, I just saw that, too. The same seller had the Herpa Premium Air New Zealand 747 - also damaged - on eBay a week or two ago. The ANZ 747 item description mentioned having a radome taken from a KLM, and I'll bet it was removed from this KLM. If it weren't missing the gear, I'd consider it.

That would depend on the asking price ...
$1 = Definitely
$10 = Probably
$100 = Not

Not just the skill to repair it, but the parts, too. That is, if you want to restore it back to a Herpa Premium. In which case, you'd need the spring-loaded main landing gear.

Looks like someone took a cotton swab of thinner and tried wiping off the blue paint. This is not a HE Premium is it? One of those that cost well over $150??

This model could be used for a crash diorama.
That's something nobody did yet...

But why would someone spend so much on a model like this then proceed to ruin it, unintentionally or intentionally??

It's sad, isn't it? Enlarging the photo shows blue paint from the fuselage even on the top portion of the wings and the vertical stab, too.

perhaps the same reason why people smashed up their ps3s just right after they waited in line for one when it first came out. some people will do anything for attention. gives them that pride.

I wonder if it would be easy to make this into a VS livery? But again, the problem being no radome and the gear. I wonder if regular HG gear would fit?

I'd guess that it would be feasible to get that radome from Herpa, I'm not sure about the gears though, I heard they're sold out and discontinued.
