Yeah, Aviation Partners Boeing developed these for the 767, just like they have for the 737 and 757.

I wonder what one of these would look like on a 767. Or any other plane.

I wonder why some airplane got the winglets while some not??? Example: My Hogan B747 Hibiscus got the winglets, but the Hogan Air Force One miss it.

Because the Air Force One is a 747-200 which does not have any winglet.

It's definitely a 763. It's tail no. 389, delivered new to AA in 1994. It will be flying a few test flights before actually entering service later this year. All 58 763s with AA will get the winglets installed. No plans for the 762s, but with fuel prices so high, maybe the bean counters in DFW will change their minds. A 5% fuel saving adds up!

But do these planes smell bad on the inside. I just worked aboard a 763 this past week, and it was in dire need of a deep-cleaning.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hogan came out with a 763 model with winglets, like they've done with the 737s and 757s.

Indeed, it would in today's economy of high fuel prices. Anyone have any idea about how much a pair of these things costs? I know that the pair for the 737 are around $2million.

HEY MR. GEMINI 200, What do You think if your next release is this airplane? BOEING 763 / W.

" Santiago-based LAN Airlines has placed an order for eight Blended Winglet Systems for 767-300F freighters and seven Systems for 767-300ER passenger Boeing aircrafts, together with an option for another 20. After the certification in the 4th quarter of 2008, the first installation will take place at the LAN's maintenance base in Santiago. The delivery is expected to be complete by 2010. Source Google "

I think I saw an AA B757 with winglets fly over my head today. I don't really like the look of them, seems to me they were not intended for the original design of the plane.

I don't like them on the 737, though. I am not wild about Boeing's winglets. They're so big.

Yup. I don't think these look proportionate, specially on the B737, they must be 6-8 ft heigh with nothing below. Aesthetics are one thing, savings are another, since these are an addition to the plane they cannot be designed to be streamlined but rather functional. I much prefer the raked wing tips of the B787 and the B747-800.

I think they look cool.

"The 767-300ER Blended Winglet program launch has been our most successful to date," says Aviation Partners Boeing's President and CEO, John Reimers. "We are four months away from expected certification and already have firm commitments for over 130 systems from 10 different airlines. As a result, we are currently sold out of 767-300ER Blended Winglet Systems through November of 2009."

Sweet, why does airbus not use them on all there planes?

Boeing seems to have better wings, heck the 747 wing is still a top design.
