Default For JS and Paulo.. DC10 stuff

I had an email from a one JS wanting a side on shot of an Inflight DC10
(so far it is the only one I have..I presume the Alitalia one is exactly the same....)

....anyway he's doing some stuff and wanted a side view...

......I am sure he will reveal all at a later date..

and for Paulo.. I like the IF model...

...but I do feel that the DC10 was never the most photogenic of aeroplanes..

....but she was different...

The Condor DC10 is a Skyline model snaffled of E Bay for not a lot...I quite like her...

JS..... as requested, your two side views...

How do you take such beautiful pics? Do you have studio? Maybe we can use some tips from you. I have to hunt for your post when I buy model to see if you have posted pics, so I don't have to snap one!!

Thanks Agent for the pictures.
What I am attempting to do is compare the overall shape of the mold to the Structural diagram that MD did for the actual aircraft. I overlayed that diagram over Agent's side view of his PAA DC-10 and my top view of my ANZ DC-10.

Comments?

Will someone tell me if the wings and horizontal stabilizers of PanAm reg: N80NA are painted white. Not quite sure if the photo is right but it looks the same colour of the fuselage. Aeroclassics DC-10 PanAM 400 scale is painted lighter gray and wings are more detailed compared to IF200 version.

I dont think they are that far out.... only thing (apart from the windows not being in line with the tailplane...) that really niggles is the Pan Am cockpit windows look too violent... the top line does not carry down on the two main cockpit windows the top is level as per Skyline... (in fact I prefer the Skyline cockpit... its not brilliant but it looks better (IMPO)) .. looking at the other DC10's so far done by Inflight, it looks as though they have altered the canopy line...

Agreed on the "frowning" cockpit look of IF200 version. I also observed both IF200 and Skyline tail engine seem to be tilted upwards. I been comparing your photos with the Aeroclassics DC-10 400 scale. Aeroclassics got it right in such a smaller scale.

I hadnt noticed the engines.. (on both)

The next question then.. is the Inflight a copy of the Skyline mold....??

(if not a copy, the joins and seams are different.... then how much influence..)

Skyline.... sold by CAM models in London and other places.. very limited edition, some come up on E Bay from time to time,, downsides, they are invariably decalled, (as against tampo) the metal is very soft, the undercarriage quite brittle and the rubber tyres do split.. the likes of Inflight with today's technology are miles ahead..

But they do have character....

firefly.. Ill check on the Pan Am's wings tonight - I think it was the very bright light...

Oh, ok, now I know what we're talking about... so Skyline is something like the Inflight LE or the 27R moddels?

I don't have any LE or 27R's, but I've heard that the detail is not the best... also the decal thing.... but on the other hand, it might be the only way to get some awesome liveries, like the ones shown by CV, or this Condor one..

I'll be getting my first IF200 DC10 soon, it's the NZ one, in the meantime those pics from Agent makes me drool...

I guess that I'm gonna have to look more closely into it... Still trying to get myself an Inflight LE Ecuatoriana DC10 with no luck.

I'm still looking for a United battleship grey DC-10 from IF LE. I lost one on EBay a few months back. Maybe IF200 will help out? Then again, I'm waiting for the IF200 Delta and TWA L-1011, the IF200 DC-10 in any U.S. domestic livery, and God knows what else I'll end up buying. Oh yes, GJ 757s. Does it ever end???
