Default You've got to love her...

Isn't she lovely? Got this on German eBay a few days ago for 78 Euros ($122): A nice and white Herpa "Lufthansa Modell Edition" 727-230 "Bremerhaven" to go with my "Oberhausen". What I didn't know until the model arrived: It's #0060! So at last I have one of the first hundred models!

All the best!

Michael

Excellent deal! Modell Editions sure are nice. I wish Herpa and LH would team up for a LME series 2!

Great idea!!! That sure would be a dream come true! Imagine them making a classic 707 and 720 in Lufthansa delivery colours... In combination with a 727-100 and the 737-100/200 the whole Lufthansa jet fleet of the 1960s would be available. Wow, what a thought...

Beautiful looking model, ya jammy g*t

I got a number 43 of a limited edition model once. That was a train though, so hardly counts.

Absolutely! Although realistically, if a "Lufthansa Modell Edition II" ever came out, it'd probably be of the current LH fleet. So we'd be seeing A320 and A340 series aircraft... and maybe an A380 sometime! Now THAT would make for an impressive model.

Herpa LH Modell Edition and current scheme? that would be awesome!

In the mean time, we can only dream of the possibilities with LH Modell Edition B737 D-ABXT that is already released.

Really? Didn't know they were revising it. Where'd you hear that? Wonder if they are revising the tail as well.

I heard this directly from IF200 on 25 March. For background, I noticed a Delta 727 by Inflight LE on eBay. The 727 is one of the aircraft I'm missing from my Retro Randy Delta Connection collection! lol. So, I sent IF200 an email asking if they planned to release a model of the Delta 727, because I certainly did not want to pay lotsa bucks for an IF LE if IF200 was coming out with one. Their reply is as follows:

"On this occassion I am able to confirm that this model will be released this year. At this time we are re-tooling the nose of the 727 model which we hope should be finished in the near future then production can restart on this model. Unfortunately I am unable to give a date to the release of the model."

Interesting. Did you happen to see how much the LE 727 went for?

They're not tampo printed, though. They have decals. And the wheels/tyres were funky on this Delta 727. They didn't appear to be the plain metal hub/rubber tyre variety like regular IF200 releases. But I would've bid on it had I not received confirmation from Inflight.

I don't have it, Jason. I was not impressed by the model in airbusroller's photos. But maybe I'm being too critical. Gee, imagine that.

It's cool that Inflight is forthcoming with info on future releases. I should ask them when a CO DC-10 is coming out!

Ya know, we used to have an Inflight guy around here (Vector1 was his name, I think) that would answer questions from time to time and keep us informed up to speed on IF news, but I haven't seen him around in a long time. When the UAL 744 was coming out, he even posted extensive detail on the manufacturing process, and took imput from collectors on details and stuff that needed to be corrected on samples. It's nice when insiders keep the hard-core collectors informed and take their imput, but unfortunately that rarely happens. Anyone know what happened to Vector1?
