Default Skymarks A340-500 and A340-600

Hi. I would like to know your opinions about SM A340s. I am concerning A346 South African and A345 Thai. Are they well made? Cockpit windows of these models looks strange to me but when I compare them with photos of real thing their shape is correct What is your opinion about them? Thanks in advance

The Thai A345 is a beautiful model. One of the finest of my collection. I've never seen the SA A346, so I don't know about it, but the A345 is a beauty.

If you lost the gear for your VS A346, just get a set of Hogan A345/346 landing gears for it and use those. They may require a little bit of sanding and filing here and there but they will fit and it will look a whole lot better.

Here is a really, really, really crappy, low quality picture taken from my Cell phone a few weeks ago. Give me a bit, and I'll try to get some better shots out of it.

If you want a Skymarks A346, without a doubt you should get the Virgin Atlantic, Claudia Nine! Without a doubt it's the best from the three Skymarks I have the others being the LH and SA versions, they being all white fuselages.

For the Airbus A340-500, the Singapore Airlines is the best. I had the option of picking up the Thai A345 but I didn't. The only other RS/SM A345 I have is the EK version.

I took a few more, again, sorry for the crummy quality, as its my Cell's camera.
With a few of my favorites in the background.

I have the Thai A345 and the center landing gear (in the rear) seems to stick out farther than the rest so the plane doesn't sit properly. It kind of rocks from side to side. Other than that and the inferior engines it's a nice model.

Hmm, thats interesting. I never really looked at it closely, but it sits level for me. Maybe the person who I bought it from, here on DAC, made some sort of modification. B773ER, what say you?

I've had the Virgin A346 and it was a great and good looking model, the Virgin scheme is one of the best to fit the A346.

Thanks you all for help. The A345 Thai looks very good - it is better than I expected.
I decided to buy it and A346 Cathay Pacific from Herpa.

I have the VS A346 but I haven't detailed it yet. It was my first SM model which I got 6 years ago. If you can give me a day or two I can take some pics and post them here.

Another thing to those who have the TG A345. Take a close look at your model. Look at the left and right side cabin windowline. Does the left side cabin windowline appear lower than the right side, especially near the front? Thats how it is on my example. Both sides are not in equal alignment with each other.

Thanks! I am waiting for the VS photos!
I've checked my A345 TG model and it looks that both sides are identical. Windows and Thai titles are on the same level. If there is any difference it is minimal and is not big problem for me.. For me irritating is the strange colours passage. Take a look at the picture, do you have the same on your model?

And for comparison:

Ok well take a look at these 2 pics. While they're not very clear, try looking at Door #1 right behind the star alliance logo. On the right side, the top of the door as you can see in Pic 1 is slightly higher than the SA logo and the cockpit windows which is ok, but now look at Pic 2 below that of the left side. You can see the top of Door #1 is at the same level as the SA logo and lower than the cockpit windows which is incorrect and a big irritant to me. I already have a replacement lined up. This will be departing hopefully soon.
