It's a good buy. I have the DHL one and it is a nice bird. no nosewheel movement but still a good plane.

The titles on that British Airways DC-10 don't look right to me somehow. Anyone else have? Maybe it's just the pre-production sample in the photo.

It is a pre-production sample. The actual model is not yet available.

Incorrect, ARD have this on sale. I almost brought one yesterday and it looks fab. If it wasn't, then the box, the model in the window etc are a figment of my imagination :P
I brought 3 IF200 747's yesterday from ARD, their gorgeous! ![]() |

What you may have seen is the Inflight LE of this model.

LE as in Limited edition I presume? So is it a case that they release VERY limited first of all, then do the complete run. I'm not to familiar with how IF work?
Thanks! |

Inflight LE (also known as 27R Models) are from what I know, typically available via custom order only. I'm sure I'll be corrected on this, but I believe they use decals instead of printing for the graphics, and not all of them have rotating wheels/tyres. There is quite a nice variety of airlines and aircraft available via 27R Models.

ARD get quite a lot of the sample IF200 models to display at their shop. You probably did see the sample DC-10 there. I was there about 3 weeks ago and saw the -10 and a couple of the DC8's (Iberia was one of them) and the yellow Courtline tristar that hasn't been shipped yet. I also saw the Southwest and Aer lingus B732's they had. Even though I saw the BA DC10 myself, I didn't notice the titles until I saw that picture.

What in your opinion doesn't look right, as it seems to be OK to me?

I was just reading an email I received from IF200 about the BA DC-10. The email is dated 5 March and he stated the models were being shipped from China and should reach retailer shelves in 3 weeks.

Having compared a photo of the real BA DC10 on Airliners.net with the photo of the model, the window line on the model is slightly too high up the fuselage. This gives the appearance that the titles are small whereas in fact the gap between the top of the windows and the letters is slightly too small so they look squashed. I'm nit-picking of course, something that I usually don't do. It's still a good looking model though. I won't be buying it as I don't have the space for lots of models and I never flew on a DC10.

hmm, you may be right but I think is a slight defect and doesn't take away from the model overall. I think it's a case of "I've been staring at the photo so long, that I have noticed a minor defect" haha...
Still A+ Model and is at the top of hitlist.
