Ahahahah that's one of the funnier things I've read here in a while. Sad thing is, I can see myself doing the same thing.

BTW, which EA did you end up getting, white or chrome top? You like it?

I already had the white top, and received today the bare metal. I also received the Delta DC-9 today. My first widget model!!! Despite what the detractors say about the IF200 727s, I love mine. I love the two DC-9s I have of theirs, too. I'm debating on whether to buy the Eastern bare metal DC-9.

Yep, Eastern and Delta were the only carriers servicing Daytona Beach, where I grew up. So, I've also flown on many 727s, as well as DC-9s. It wasn't until I moved to Tampa in 1980 that I flew on my first L-1011.

I only wish they made Delta, but I've said that before. I was thinking about that on the commute home tonight. Kinda sad that I only have one Delta widget, given how much I flew on those planes. Amazing the 727 is unavailable. Thank goodness the L-1011 will soon be. I'm tempted to buy two.

Which IF200 727 are you about to click the "Add to cart" button for?

That would be the Continental.

Am I that obvious? Dang.

Randy, I'm confident we're going to get that CO meatball 727 sometime soon, especially now that we've got Jet-X in the game.

I want these three in CO "meatball": 727, DC-10, DC-9. What else did they fly back then? I don't know too much about their fleet back then.

CO planes that existed in meatball colors (not including CO Express):

707
720
727-100, -200
737-100, -200, -300
747-100, -200
DC-9-10, -30
DC-10-10, -30
MD-80
A300

That's what I got off the top of my head, I might be forgetting something.

Thanks, Mike. I'd enjoy having a 737, MD-80 and A300 for CO, too. I'd also like to have an Eastern A300.

The A300 and MD-80 are way underrepresented in 1:200. Thankfully, that's about to change for the MD-80 with the Jet-Xs, hopefully someone will do a decent A300 soon, or maybe Herpa can put their mould to good use. (I think all they've done so far is Iran Air... psh c'mon..)

Hey Mike... go ahead and give in to the IF200 727... you'll be glad you did! I have the TWA twin-stripe, Olympic, and Continental... just purchased the the CP Air and the Northeast "Yellowbird" (not delivered yet). I only mention these as each and everyone I get I enjoy more and more... IMHO they are extremely nice models and worth the $65 bucks. Then again, you already know how I feel about the B727

Qatar, I'm with you too... NOTHING LIKE THE 727!!

Hopefully we will see some Mexicana colorful tails and an American 722 with the current livery. The American 722 was the first plane I ever flew in, when I was only 6 days old!

IF200 seriously needs to be careful. A year ago they were pretty much the only all metal manufacturer in 1:200, now they are facing some tough competition!

If an L10 and a B732 in the collection = some hope for Kai, then I am hopeless and probably beyond redemption.

That's a fair statement!

So funny... when CP Air was around years ago. I used to think they had the ugliest damn planes I had ever seen... thought it was an absolutely awful scheme and design. For the passing of time, and no longer around, makes me wish like hell they were back!

I'll be sure to let you know B773ER when I receive it... I'm sure it'll be one of my favorites... oh hell, they're ALL my favorites

BTW, I can see why San Francisco is your favorite city... what's not to like about it... I lived there for some years about 20 years ago and loved it.

My first time seeing the livery was on a DC-10. I liked the warm colours they used on it. Total opposite of what I normally like.

I lived there from 12/92 to 06/06 and want to move back once the housing and lending markets come back so I can sell my condo up here. I'm anxious to get "home."
