Nice collection, but they'd look a little better out of the box and assembled I think.

Wow!! What a shame a lot of these kits are not available in other forms! I see quite a few I'd love to own. Do you plan to build any of them?

I have a feeling we will eventually see that one, given they've done the 747 and DC-9.

Mike777: Yep, I forgot all about that one!

Jboulin94: You know that IF200 is releasing a NW DC-10 this year, right? I have no idea which livery/scheme it is. I don't know if it's NW or NWOrient.

My favourites of the bunch are the KLM, CO (gold tail) and NWOrient DC-10s, the Eastern A300, and the Delta 727 and 767 (Spirit of Delta).

Great collection there
I actually prefer the original artwork boxes than the photographs....
takes a skill to paint that well.

I've got most of those too, built about 25% of them. The rest only time will tell.

I remember the first time I discovered these HA kits was back in '86 at Zurich Airport. I don't remember the shops name but they had a shelf full of them and I recall seeing the AI, AF, ANA, LH, JAL, SIA 747's, AZ, JAL and NWO DC-10's of which the AZ had SR decals included inside, CX, TWA, ANA and BA Tristars, SIA, PAL, TG and TDA A300's, ANA and Aloha 737's and the JAL 762. I can't recall the name of the shop, but was Buchair around in '86 because that name rang a bell the first time I saw it on e-bay.

I of course went totally nuts after seeing them and so badly wanted one as before that I was only doing 1:144 and this was my first time seeing the 1:200 scale. We had just gotten off an SR flight at the start of our summer family vacation and were killing time waiting for a train connection, but I was totally in awe of these models and my dad said nothing doing, but my mom persuaded him for the sake of a peaceful holiday to get me one, so I got the JAL 743 for SFR 25.00, which I recall clearly was the price and was over the moon. My first HA kit and 743 model. About a week later I was alone with my mom somewhere in Switzerland when I discovered another toy store and there they had only 2 BA Tristars, so my mom got me one of those too for around SFR 20.00. Now I had my first Tristar too! I was surprised to see that alot of shops there in Switzerland had HA kits in stock. However I was still determined to get a DC-10, A300 and 737 for myself and didn't get the chance till we were back at ZHR for our flight home. My mom managed to weed out some SFR from my dad and when we were near that shop at the airport, my mom tried to veer my dad away by showing him something and signalled me to go and 'get on with it' lol. I made a beeline to that shop but kept looking over my shoulder which was a good thing as I saw my dad coming straight towards the shop and I went and hid behind one of the shelves. He knew exactly where I might be! He just peered in, saw I wasn't there, and walked off. When the coast was clear, I went and selected what I wanted but only had enough money for 2 models. I looked for the PAL A300 Love Bus but it was gone by this time, as was the TG and they only had SIA and TDA, so I took the SIA A300 and had only enough cash for a 737, so picked the Aloha 737. I wanted the AZ DC-10 too but didn't have enough money and chose the A300 over a DC-10 as I already had a Revell DC-10 in 1:144 and no A300. I can't recall how I managed to join my parents w/o my dad seeing the shopping bag, but I think I had a piece of hand luggage with me and stuffed it in there. After we took off from ZHR, I took the bag out and savoured my stealth purchases and my dad saw me and I just smiled and he chuckled to himself and said 'I knew I should have come in further, you we're hiding somewhere in there wern't you?' I just grinned and nodded.

Sadly my dad is no longer around but I'll always have fond memories of these moments.

Once again, I wish I was around in the '80s Thats a great story! Do you have the Air India 747 kit? If you do, could you please post pics as I can not seem to find that kit anywhere? Hasegawa should come out with vintage '80s kits just for fun.
