Default My version of "High Detail" Risesoon 1:200 EVA Air 777-300ER B-16701

ive been sick so i took off work so during the times i wasnt sleeping i was about to spend some time on this bird. almost done! not totally though. i see my lens backfocuses and is noticeably noticeable in up close photos looks like ill need to have that checked up on. the after shots have been compressed heavily so excuse the quality, will take better ones when the plane is done.

BEFORE:

AFTER:
got a couple more mods to do to finish this up but added:
-"cut here in emergency" decals
-engine detail decals
-black ADF(?) antenna decals
-engine nacelle stabs
-swirly thing inside fan cone
-no more seam lines and a white engine instead of gray with painted exhaust cone (sorry hogan, your engines hands down totally lose to mine now)
-color matched front gear door and struts with hogan wheel, strut broken and shaven down so front element doesnt protrude so much, red line added.
-wingroot headlight decal

you know what i forgot to add? those perforated metal panels inside the lip of the nacelle used to reduce noise. that was a note to myself

whoops this one is kinda small. too lazy to fix.

look Ma, no seam lines! yippeeee!!!

Wow Kai, you are getting to be a pro at this! Excellent job on the engines especially. What about antennas though?

Man, I'm seriously going to have to look into upgrading the fleet of Continental Hogans this summer.

gahhh antenna are easy to make but they are just too darn fragile as they snap off very easily.

I can see how much effort you put into this one.
Great job kai! Now that is one fine looking EVA triple 7!

Btw, I didn't know some aircrafts had "cut here in emergency" mark on the top of it.

yep they sure do

and looking at that, it looks like i forgot the overwing exit markings too. darn it!!! and why does risesoon have to put darn corroguard on -300ERs when they obviously dont have it.

That an excellent job. Now you just have to be extremely careful if you ever need to take it apart and box it. I'd be scared of just touching one of these for fear that something or the other might scratch/peel off or get smudged.

Does the Hogan version have details that come close to this? I have the collectors edition but can't be bothered to go upstairs and unlock my model room and take it out.

That looks great especially the engines. Just proof that you can take a cheaper model and make it into something very nice. I've tried to do some detailing on a few spare Skymarks models that I have and they turned out OK but I need more practice. My big hands/fingers and tiny models make for a difficult process...lol!

The Collector's Edition has everything except for the black line going down the wings and the overwing exit markings. Otherwise, the Hogan Collector's Edition more closely matches the wing details on the actual aircraft as shown in the photo from Anet Kai posted.

Kai, you did a fantastic job on this.

You must have the skilled hands of a surgeon, to give the engines all those details. Absolutely fantastic job Kai...You are a very skilled person!

Excellent job at the modifications! Hope to see more of these kind of work, especially on your on-going QR B77W and perhaps the OA A343(?)...and yes, this proves that with a little mod, you can make a so-so model look great!

Still thinking??? Well, GO FOR IT, Mike!!! There are 7 HG CO models out there (sorry, I didn't include the B787 since it hasn't been delivered yet) and I have the B739 and B742. I'm planning to add the B752(WL), B753, B764/ER...and perhaps the B772. The only beef I have is the incorrect registration on the Co B753.

This puts the Hogan version to shame even though yours is a Risesoon version, awesome work. You now have inspired me to try and customize my Risesoon Aeromexico 772. I don't think I can match your skill but I'll post picutres when I am done and see how it came out. Thanks for sharing kaitanium.

much thanks for the comments! good luck to those who really want to try this out! i shall finish the overwing exit doors and engine noise absorbing panels hopefully today. i just got to say that these do-it yourself decals behave a bit differently than regular decals that are thermal or silkscreen printed.

no worries. ive already thought all this out before embarking on this project if it should ever need to get shipped. the only i worry about is these decals yellowing over time. which if it does i suppose i can just scratch them off and buff out the residue with some alcohol.

hogans mold is overall more accurate as randy said on the wings (no corroguard) but as far as details go, mine wins.

it was hard since it was my first time at this but i made them myself. we shall see if these stand the test of time and the "weather" inside my display case and apartment haha.
