Not bad. Like the Xbox too, just like mine. I hope to get my 787 model for my own review sometime this week.

It depends on the distributor. Some get all the nw releases and some only get certain ones. Call your shop and see why they are not getting it. It may be something with the distributor.

wingflex on a ground version 787? comon now, might as well make me a 777 ground version with its wings flexed...
sorry all this 787 wing business bugs me alot. just because its wingflex is rather beautiful inflgiht doesnt mean model makers have to put in all their models. is phoenix's 787 boeing certified? probably not. this, people, is accuracy. hogans ground 787. i just wished they did the engines right, added reg, and the carrier emblems. As far as I know, Hogan has undertaken yet another running change on the engine. The new engine will be used for future 787 production runs..... |

well for one thing the leading edge of the nacelle (silver part) is too thin on the hogan. thats all i care about =), rolls royce sign would be a nice touch if they can get it on.
heres hogans engine. pretty big difference in thickness, phoenix's being accurate to the bone. i wonder why hogan didnt make the edge silver like all their other models...hogan did an excellent job with this model nevertheless, just with every other model theres always a "withlist" of missing features. love this iridescent paint job! somehow i think the phoenix's is just plain white =) boring. wing looks thick on the phoenix too, something that metal will never beat plastic in Last edited by B-16707; 12-17-2007 at 02:08 AM. |

Boy, Phoenix needs to learn about wings. several things:
1. most obvious, the wing flex 2. the tips of the wings are bent up slightly. from third picture, looks straight 3. silver on leading edge extends almost all the way to the very tip. it doesnt stop at the lights. also, though we have yet to see the real production 787, there are several tiny things that I already notice. Flickr Photo Download: Boeing 787 Roll Out. first, I have not seen a single photo of the 787 with that little antenna on the bottom (under the "B" in boeing). so if phoenix decides to re-release a correct version of the model, here may be a few other things to address: 1)the upper portion of the blue fades into the white; it doesnt stop abruptly 2)from the nose landing gear seen in the prototype (could change), it looks different. refer to picture. there is no triangle, there is just a bar running towards it's tail. otherwise, the nose landing gear is just a straight bar. 3)if they're basing the model on the pre-production one, there is no registration on the front landing gear doors. though this may change for the real one 4)door 2r's handle is slightly too high 5)the wing light (light on the leading edge, very close to fusalage) is a single light. not two as in the model just little nit-picky stuff. also, If you don't mind, could you post more pictures focusing on the wing? I want to see if it has the sleek canoes on the real 787. Boeing Dreamliner Rollout on Flickr - Photo Sharing! |

overall i think this would be on my wishlist if phoenix had made the wings proper for this ground configuration since the details are there. again, a beautiful wing in flight doesnt mean you have to make the model that way in a ground setting. dont get me wrong, i love that wingflex but a modeler like me needs some realism when displaying this in a model airport setting
again its like me walking around everything with my hands up. looks foolish! imagine the amount of wingflex in flight if the wing was already preflexed! hey GJ, looks like they copied your box! or is it the other way around? haha |

Looks nice to me and the wing, from Kai's image, looks the same on the gorund as it did to me during the rollout. There is just a sutble touch of an upswept when looking at the wing in knife edge profile.
BTW, I have no affiliation with the Phoenix model company. Anyway, I have the Hogan 787 model, with wings flexed in flight and on a wooden base. Pretty nice IMHO. |

my image is of the hogan ground model just so that we arent confused. i dont like this phoenix version.
model makers need to join the forums and see what people are complaining about. the forums are free!!! gosh darn it. seems like the best way to get the business is to give what the people want. now im not saying that flexed wings on a ground version is what everyone wants but i do say this in general straight as an arrow except for the winglets straight ![]() SOOOO STRAIGHT i think ive beaten this one to death. sorry phoenix, you were captivating me with your tu134, 727, and 737 releases. guess youve lost me on your 787! GJ200 still takes the lead in my book for giving what the people want and keeping accuracy at the top of their list! Last edited by B-16707; 12-17-2007 at 06:37 PM. |

These are some of the photos I recall. I felt it gave a bit more of a curve going into the winglet.
But I agree 100%, that huge degree of sweep while sitting in the ground is not correct. Not sure how to post these but have a look. I felt it was a bit more than pin straight, but defeinitely NOT swept like that. JetPhotos.Net Photo » N787BA Boeing Company Boeing 787-881 Dreamliner by Mario J.
