I'll pass on the Southwest, but glad to see the -700 mould is here as well.

I'll admit, my first reaction when I saw that retractable/removable gear was the new feature was "oh no, exactly what we DIDN'T want!" But it appears Gemini pulled it off pretty well, and going for removable gear was certainly better than attempting to do it how they did with the 250s. I'm indifferent about the new feature though; it doesn't do much for me, but it certainly doesn't take anything away as it looks like the gear is nicely designed. But it sounds like most of you guys are really digging it, so I say congrats to Gemini for implementing something that seems overall popular among collectors. I suppose displaying a model or two with a stand and no gear might add a little something different to a display though.

The mould, especially the nose, looks pretty ace, MUCH better than IF 737s. The printing and details look top notch as well!

One complaint I have though is the hole in the bottom of the fuselage for the stand and the very unsightly "GeminiJets" stamp (nothing against the logo, but it's not on the belly of the real thing so shouldn't be on the belly of the models!) A very inconspicuous logo like that on the belly of Herpa Premiums would have been much more ideal IMO. I know that most all manufacturers put a bright and colorful namepiece of some sort on the bottom of their models, but I think it should have been done a little more professionally and less noticeably, a la Herpa Premiums, for these top of the line GJs.

Anyway, those are very MINOR nitpicks! I'll reserve final judgement once I have a model in hand, but these sure are looking nice overall! Especially for the 50-60 dollar pricetag; I think this new line from GJ has some serious potential and it looks like they are majorly upping the ante for 1:200 scale airliners. Good job GJ, and thank-you!

I only hope they aren't too tardy in releasing some 'nentals on the -700 and -800 mould, not to mention the 752 in a few months.

AWESOME...the -700 looks great in the new SW colors. This shall be added to my 1/200 shrine.

A hole for the stand and Gemini logo are not nitpicks, minor or otherwise, as they are part of the deal when buying a MODEL AIRPLANE for crying out loud (insert rolling eyes here for Mike777).

Do I dare ask who spends their weekend evenings examining the underside of their airplane models while comparing the details of said model to photos of the real thing? Let me save you the trouble and inform you that our beloved models have stand holes, manufacturer logos and colors that might not match every airplane in the fleet over its 20 year career. All the windows also have the exact same grey or black shade which we all know would never happen in real life. They also cost about 1/1,000,000th of the real thing, otherwise we should all demand 100% refunds considering all the details of our models that are not like the real thing.

Thank God there are plenty of collectors in the world that understand the limitations and issues concerning scale airliner models and still enjoy them in spite of those limitations. I will raise a toast to all of you this Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

I suspect it's just a matter of when, not if, you will be seeing those CO models from G2.

I can't speak for everyone else but I agree with you there. Well done and keep up the good job, GJ!

I think these are amazing releases. In today's economy, this is taking a chance. There are plenty of 1/200 scale models out there, yet GJ is upping the ante by producing new molds, spot-on color schemes, and a variety of planes in the hopes of making 1/200 as mainstream as 1/400. If enough of these sell, imagine a line of GJ-produced GSE!!! Or maybe even a 1/200 terminal set!

Bottom line, buy these models! They're a steal at $50-60. Let GJ make some money so we can get the models we want. IGNORE the "defects". It is IMPOSSIBLE to make a perfect copy of the real thing. And if you did, none of us could afford it.

Outstanding model, Im sold on this one.
Im glad to see the diecast side of the 1/200 market growing as plastic models does very little for me.

Well by your measure, let's just do away completely with any details on the bottom of the plane. In fact let's just paint it solid black. No one ever sees or cares it, right???

Hey man, I'm not asking for a perfect model and like I said these two minor things don't really matter to me that much, as you can tell if you read the rest of my post. The models look great and I plan on buying some. I'll concede that these things are more minor than I originally conveyed (even though I did state in CAPS that they were "very MINOR".) I don't by any stretch of the imagination expect these things to be 100% like the real airplane. There are people on these forums that complain to death about the most minute details that I would never even dream of mentioning, even on 1/400 scale models, so don't bite my head off when there are "nitpickers" 1000 times worse than me around here.

And for the record, I don't "spend my weekend evenings examining the underside of my airplane models while comparing the details of said model to photos of the real thing."

Probably a lame question, but regarding these aluminum birds, can we finally say good bye to TARNISH ? I'm thinking of the upcoming AA 738.
