I have spoken to the factory direct and this is not an inflight model...MY guess is that it appears to be a Hasegawa kit and someone is using a box similar to the inflight box for storage....

I think you are right there Mr CV.... If it were Inflight, and a -400, it would have the winglets...

In addition the wing to body join of an inflight is missing or is now surprisingly invisible... as per the photo below...

I believe the Japanese Domestic Boeing 747-400D are without winglets.
Is it possible it is a re-decalled inflight model?
or the Hogan 1/200 with inflight wheels added?

it is a domestic 744 model. no winglets indeed.

not possible its a hogan at all. gear struts, wing light detail, lights, wing root, antenna. not characteristic hogan. besides hogan wouldnt do another recreation of this model since i believe they have a plastic one out.

That Model was a 747-400D, since the Pokemon ones were used mostly in Japan

Exactimundo.

Has someone detailed the Hogan version of JA8964-looks plastic to me. But added inflight wheels?

.. and if it was Inflight it would have the winglets.. irrespective of whether the real plane had em...!

nice bit of kit though...

im confused. why would it have to have it? simply because they dont have a -400D mold? or is that a joke on inflight quality control hehe

its not only the wheels. given we are talking about JA8964 here, the panel lines on the engines, wings, even the gloss look too much of a diecast characteristic. landing gear strut is thicker than hogans/herpas. wing root is not chracteristic hogan. no star alliance logo either on that guy. and wheres all the extra printed details that limited hogans have?
lastly hogans quality control would not allow screw ups like the count of windows on the upper deck. the real aircraft (and hogan's model) its got the normal 8 windows, then a break and then 2 more windows on the port side of the aircraft. its even missing a pink circle forward of where the headlights are on the wing.

and see that ventalation hole (little black protruding object) just forward and below the last door? not even hogan diecast 1:300s have that detail!

so whatever it is, i highly doubt its a hogan unless they have a new mold. maybe its phoenix doing 747s now! haha. if you ask me, i conclude its an inflight.

So what is it. If inflight claims its not theirs, and its not a Hogan or
Herpa, what is it??? Looks pretty sharp regardless. I want one

Hase 747's don't have non-existant LE slats engraved on the inboard section of the wing---that's a hallmark of diecast 747's. They also don't have engraved nacelles.

My guess---they used Hase decals, but it's an IF200 to start with.

who would do such a thing to an IF! unless it was a blank one to start with. even if, IF doenst have a non winglet 744 mold! but he could have sawed them off to create that.

The following is the current link.

Yahoo!¥ª¡¼¥¯¥·¥ç¥ó - ¢£Â¨·è¢£Inflight 1/200 ANA B747-481D JA8964 Pokemon Jet 99

It's the second bid and the starting bid is USD410 though the first starting bid was approx. 760USD. The seller says he got this model at the foreign ANA Sky Shop (?.... I think there're the shops in Japan only though...) in the mail with the price of approx. 785USD.

that is excessive. 785 bucks could feed some 30kids for a whole month in some countries. 224 gallons of gas (roughly 10 tanks), a new computer, 142 burritos...

Yeah, I doubt it's a Hogan too. Just check out the cockpit and the nose!
