Years ago, there was a shop in Alexandria called "Trains, Planes and ..." something. Something like that anyway. It was on King Street. And there was an art gallery a few doors down that specialized in aviation posters and fine art, with a room in back where you could find Aero Mini and other older diecast models. As far as I can tell, both shops are now gone.
Out in my neck of the woods (Fairfax), there's a place called "Hobby Works," which stocks Dragon Wings and Corgi, though it specializes in RC and kits. But nothing in 1/200 scale as far as I know. Then there's the shop at the National Air and Space Museum. They used to carry some nice models (mostly desk-top wooden display models), but their diecast selection now consists almost entirely of the Model Power series. That about sums it up.
