Default Hogan Caravelle....

Sascha,
Thanks for your pics and review. Theyre very helpful in getting a consumers eye point of view of these latest Hogans. 1/200 has gained a lot of interest for me. Ive pretty much dropped 1:400, but will occassionally pick up something that I feel is special.

Re the Caravelles youve posted....any news if Hogan will do the "short-spine" Caravelle 6 version?...or perhaps the larger variant series 12?

I am a little worried at the wing shape of the Super Connie. The wings are slightly too "swept back" for want of a better word and should be broader notably outwards of the nacelles. The wingspan also appears slightly excessive.

Cheers!

Those Caravelles look sweet! The cockpit windows on the Swissair seem a bit odd, may just be an illusion in the photo. Other than that LOVE THEM!

Anyone know who will be selling these in the US?

Yes true enough as I pointed out a year ago...

But to tell you the truth, I'm willing to forgive some minor mould problems for overall killer models.

Sure, I´d always buy from a 2-posts-only member. Right.

Folks...just a little background on Skyrail so you know I'm not a johnny-come-lately. Skyrail's been around for over two years, at first providing airplane models on a wholesale basis to US and European customers. I've been in the retail hobby industry for over 30 years. and in the model airplane business since 1988 when the only diecast stuff on the market was Schabak and the original black-box Herpa 1/400 scale stuff. In 1993 I began working for Daron and created The Airplane Shop (now in Fairfield, NJ) for Ron Marx. For health reasons, I took a leave of absence from A/S in October 2002. I was commuting 140 miles a day and my back went out, so during my recuperation, after I officially departed A/S in February of 2003, I began Skyrail, now a fast-growing retail and wholesale business doing business via enewsletter. My connection to this forum came only recently came as a result of an opportunity I saw to get better educated about what people are looking for in an industry that has gone quite crazy since I got in on the ground floor nearly 20 years ago. So, yes, two posts are not a lot, but 17 years worth of industry-specific experience should more than make up for the lack of time I've had thus far to become more involved in forums such as this. I'd love to talk to anyone about the industry at any time, but please be aware that in order to keep up the level of service the Todd mentioned, I still have to concentrate on my primary concern...customer care. After all, I am still a one-person company. Thanks for the chance to provide some background. Paul Schulhaus - Skyrail Inc.

Actually, it is not David, but 400censorhangar. My posts are edited or deleted on a regular basis nowadays. If your plan was to drive me out rather than ban me, it worked. However, I have no agenda, and I post what I feel like. If I feel that some 400ch members are wrong in their statements, I post that - to find my posts deleted. THAT is what empties the glass for me. However, I do feel that the more I visit the Buzz, the more of my posts get deleted. Sad. Do you censor because you feel it´s the American way (you do have a knack for patriotism and American values, like freedom of speech), or because you´re told to?

Nobody tells me to do anything, it's my forum.....

The forum is moderated, unlike some forums.

The posts and/or threads where the only purpose is to cause trouble, are dealt with..........if that is a person's purpose, then they picked the wrong forum to post in and should find a forum that allows 'free-for-all' posting.

I also participate in other forum's, in other hobbies, much larger than model collecting, forum's that would make DAC/Wings, Buzz and 400sh look very small and those forum's would never allow 80% of posts that this hobby allows....

Bottom line, if anyone does not like the way a forum is run, whether it be 400sh, the Buzz or DAC/Wings, then go elsewhere, nobody is forcing you or anyone else to visit.....

Todd, the German language forums are about sharing experiences, fun, and a good-natured laugh. There are no "holy cows" there. I visit other forums, too.

All these are, e.g., possible on the Buzz. They are, in most cases, possible on DAC. They are no longer possible on 400ch.

One of my last posts you deleted was a humorous answer to a post by PeeWee/Goldy that went something like

"Peewee is a good boy. Signed: Peewee´s mom", to which I replied something like
"Since when do they get internet access in the penitentiary? :-)"

A joke. Peewee knows I have no problems with him. Everybody knows that Norm´s mom is not in jail. So why delete? This line was derived from Jeff Foxworthy´s "Redneck 12 days of Christmas". These actions imho make 400ch sterile, and no more fun to visit. And, don´t worry, I for one won´t visit anymore. Why bother when even the most harmless posts are edited, or deleted? When, if I ask a question, I don´t know whether anybody gets to read that question because His Royal Toddness decided the post to be unsuitable for other collectors?

I never saw that post.......

.....again though, if you don't like what goes on over at 400sh, don't visit, it can't be any easier than that

Then who deleted it behind your back? Stuff going on at 400ch that you don´t know about, or endorse? Come on, you´ve posted better lies than that in the past...

I don't lie, I did not see that post, sorry to burst your bubble but I don't read everything posted there, we do however have several moderator's who may have deleted it if it was in question.....again, if you don't like it, don't visit, how much more simple can it be?

I really don't want to get in to this, but everytime one of my posts gets deleted there, magically, none of the moderators know what happened to it. I've never complained though, it just seems kind of weird.

That's interesting Zach as I have never been asked by you if something of yours was deleted........so I am curious how you can state 'none of the moderators know what happened to it.' ???
