Default Herpa Lufhansa Airbus A380-800 2nd Edition

Herpa will release a second Edition of the Lufthansa Airbus A380-800 (550727). The cockpit windows will be printed like we have seen on Hogan/Socatec models.

Hmm, so does this mean the original models will be rare and more collectible?

It's the Hogan model with wings attached. I hope that they resolve the poor wing/fuselage join seen in the Hogan model! Also the nosegear doors hang very markedly inwards on the real a/c!! No models have this.

Cheers!

You are kidding right?
You can't possibly believe any sane collector would pay $$$$ for that monstrosity?!

Edmund,

What do you mean by "poor wing/fuselage join"? Mines (both Airbus and Malaysia models) attach quite well. Have you pushed the wings into position?

I do agree with you about the nosegear doors though, the real ones are markedly inwards while nobody has done a model that depicts this. On the other hand, the herpa/hogan A340-600 is spot-on with those carefully inwards nose gear doors and I don't see anybody celebrating that.

I meant if it became sort of a rarity, seeing as how there probably weren't very many purchased in the first place, since it is a monstrosity, as you put it. Kind of like Aero-Minis; they are not accurate at all, but are rare and collectible, therefore they sell for big bucks. I'm talking about years from now, when most collectors won't even know there ever was a "first" or "second" version A380 from Herpa. I may be wrong, but it just seems like one of those things that might eventually be worth some money.

I do understand of course, I was just stating my disgust towards a rushed product. and my happiness towards its phasing-out...and hopefully complete efacement from the face of this planet.

I hope that Herpa shows all the Hogan details! I bet that they start with Lufthansa first! A model in that livery is rumoured!

Cheers!

Haha, it was a pretty pathetic model, wasn't it. But the new one is seems awesome from the pics.
