looks nice, but who needs seven (!) different regs of the same color scheme after five air france new colors and 2 air france old colors... i guess we will see every single concorde in every color scheme and every registration ever flown. so we can expect a pesi and a singapore in the near future too.

Sacha has a point, soon, the entire concorde fleet in real-life will be produced in diecast form, thanks in part to the commercial failure of the type, there are not many to be represented!
I don't complain, I will get at least this livery in any registration, but not interested in having a 1/200 concorde fleet...especially at 80Euros a piece! I don't think anyone is into collecting every concorde ever flown! My only hope is that no stupid fantasies will be produced before the real-life planes are all represented. Actually, I would not want to see any fantasy liveries at all in this scale. Last edited by B-huj; 08-04-2005 at 06:38 AM. |

I think that all the museums containing the BA aircraft will be interested in having models of "their" a/c - and these museums have substantial numbers of supporters. I personally instigated the preservation of G-BOAC at Manchester Airport where she is on display and awaiting a permanent hanger.
A BA pre-production prototype needs to be added since externally it is identical to the production a/c - G-BBDG currently under restoration at Brooklands Surrey. In France, there is F-WTSA which also needs modelling. In the US, G-BOAG is preserved at Seattle and G-BOAD is at the Intrepid site in NYC. G-BOAE is in Barbados, the rest in the UK. Cheers!

Actually, these are two very important questions... is it another Socatec? or will it be cheaper than Air France's version? |

For the price don't expect the BA model to be cheaper of the AF one. Arno

Yes it is a Socatec. It is the same mould as the AF Concordes. The price will most likely be the same too. - N1786B |

"A BA pre-production prototype needs to be added since externally it is identical to the production a/c - G-BBDG currently under restoration at Brooklands Surrey. In France, there is F-WTSA which also needs modelling."
Some confusion here..... ! "A BA pre-production prototype... " There were two prototypes and two pre-production aircraft ... BA never owned any of either. G-BBDG was the first British production aircraft, used for certification. It never went into service, although BA bought it in the end to be used for spares. The first pre-production aircraft was 01 / G-AXDN (now at Duxford) which has the new visor, but still the "old" short tail and the "old" nozzles and thrust reversers. F-WTSA / 02 was the second pre-production aircraft, and the first with the long tail and the new nozzles, so externally identical to the later production aircraft. Then there's F-WTSB, the first French production aircraft. Same story as G-BBDG, used for certification, never went into service. So in all there are 17 aircraft that could be modelled with the existing mould, plus then of course the livery variants. |
