To be correct needs to be a Comet 1 or a Comet 4 for BOAC

Cheers!

OK,

was just kidding... I was soooooo bored yesterday!

Speaking of boring: these releases are really boring. One we already had, another Eurowhite Babybus, and an obscure classic...

We really need a Comet!

Well, I am all over the retro A321, the best looking 321 from herpa to date IMO.

Don´t get me wrong, the Retrobird is fantastic - buy it if you can!

Problem is, it´s already sitting in my cabinet, and I would have liked to see some other models...

Mine too.... I have mixed feelings about the retro coming out as a regular release though. I suppose those of us who forked out the $ to get one from the Lufthansa Sky Shop have the rare first release in the lufthansa box, but still....

Not an inspiring set of 1:200 models, IMO.

Default ...is the Swissair-Convair (May05) already available?

That's very impressing optimism, to announce the release of a third Convair-livery without having even released the first one announced for May...

Bluester,

yesterday I talked with my retailer (in Germany). He gave me a mid-August delivery date for
- SR Convair
- Capitol Connie
- LSG Catering truck.

Let´s cross fingers...

Please please please - Mohawk CV 440. Talk about nostalgia! There should be plenty of willing buyers for that in the northeast and mid-Atlantic U.S. Hell, I'm in Chicago but I'd take two of them! Then again, I grew up in Rochester New York and watched many a CV440 from Mohawk come through, along with Capital Viscounts, American Electras, Mohawk BAC-111s, Mohawk FH-227, etc... Those were the days!

Default New Releases

Let's see:

Already have the retro Lufthansa A321. The Czech isn't bad. I like the Convair alot. Look forward to the Comet. Mexicana would be sharp!

Mohawk? Would love any Mohawk!

An Aerolineas Argentinas, and a East African Airways Comet would also rock my world!

I understand how you guys feel about the A321 retro. First, it looked like a very rare Lufthansa release, and then Herpa announces it. I had a bad feeling about Hogan's AF Concorde's and the version that there was a "second batch" coming out, when some of us spent $$$$$$$ on the "limited, out of stock" version.

Catering trucks being delayed to mid august, that sucks.

Indeed i'm very reluctant about so called 'limited editions' and 'collector's items'.

I'm mostly into 1:500 and 1:400 models cause i don't like plastic (but in this part of the forum the discussions are more interesting and to the point), but i've noticed that once Herpa attributes a productnumber at plane it will eventually turn up somehow as a regular release at a normal price.

I'm not a member of the Herpa Wings Club, but when i need a club-plane i just order it and get it at a normal price...

Same thing goes for the so called 'limited editions'. SOmetimes they overproduce a few thousands and sell them for the years coming... you just have to order them. So much for the dearly paid exclusivity....

Rovos Air CV-440 sounds interesting. A current African operator. Operating from Tanzania on down. Been to Tanzania back in 1998. This seem neat!
Here is their route map.

So it really is quite an obscure airline and a very special theme for a model. Nice livery after all the Rovos prop.

Hey Sabena, the Concorde produced by Hogan is all-metal, very heavy and solid. Same goes for the Convair 440, the 727-200 and the Super Constellation. There are so many new options in metal in the 1/200 range that I completely stopped collecting 1/400.

I didn't know about the Hogan, but Concorde is one of my favorites so i'll definately go for that.

As for the others... yes, i'v ordered the Herpa 727s (got the Happag Loyd alreadyand it is really great apart perhaps of some missing details but thats Herpa) and the KLM-constellation and the Lufthansa and Swissair Convairs. Don't know what to make of the Rovos (i do think about budget and stockroom, so i try to attribute my resources as efficient as possible)

Thanks again for the Hogan tip! If u have any more 'metals', just let me know!

greetings

Well, search for Inflight 200 (90 - 200 EUR price range), Inflight LE (starts with 190 EUR) and Western models (from 130 EUR up) and you´ll find lots of interesting models - and more to come!

I love that Convair! It would be great to see one from North Central down the road!

Thumbs up

I hope they do a 580, in Allegheny, North Central, Republic, Frontier both schemes & Aspen.

Some nice 440s would be Mackey International, SAS, Iberia, Sabena, and American Inter-Island.

These are the Big Toys, yes...expensive, but worth every kilo of metal!

I really am impressed by the quality and attention to detail on the Inflight 200s...but as SAbena, I have to be very careful how I distribute my money and space, because my interests are too broad, encompassing not only airliners these days (1/76 buses, 1/72 warbirds and jet fighters, 1/400 and 1/200 airliners).

Nobbe, how does your collection look like now? a quick shot would be interesting

B-HUJ,

I would like to shoot some pics, but I have no camera yet and that´s why there are no new pics at this time. In about three weeks my fllet will get two additions (Swissair CV440 and Capitol Connie) and then I will borrow the company´s camera to make some more pics.

So, stay tuned...
