Default ANA Star Wars Diecast B777

I just noticed this model. A nice compliment to the diecast 200 B787.

Looks like one of those you snooze you lose models if it is indeed metal and something you collect. Likely a sample as the legal weasels shut down the previous attempts at production.

The ANA 787-9 Star Wars manufacturer should have made this. Their mould is better in my opinion.

Yes it was in production and now it is complete. The display stand looks good too. Can't wait for my pre-order to arrive in YSSY depot. It is hard to order a model with out a code but there are ways. So contact your supplier. There are just a few models on ebay and I am not refering you to ebay to purchase, it's just an observation so you can view the diecast models.YOWguy, Bill is right and don't wait and miss the boat if you want this in diecast, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this manufacturer's 777-300 mould at all for those that still doubt.

Until JCW fixes the nose and engines of their 777-300ER mold, I'll stick with the Inflight mold. As Aussiejets said, there is nothing wrong with the Inflight mold at all. In fact, I prefer it over the current JCW effort because of the better paint and additional details on the model.

I don't know. $199 US vs. $124.99 before discounts for a regular release? Since some of the Star Wars models have been listed at up to $399, I would say this one was a relative bargain.

The list price for official ANA 777 Star Wars made by Hogan is 19500 JPY. I agree with Charlie Alpha's comment but please note the metal one is not official model.

I was lucky enough to get the R2D2 787 a while back, and now have this on preorder which should arrive within the next couple weeks according to my supplier. If anyone is still looking, I can ask my supplier if he is still accepting preorders for this model. Let me know!!

I was lucky enough to secure the Pacmin 100 scale of the B767 at a reasonable price. The detail is incredible. Fingers crossed and hoping for the same result with the C3PO version. I was told that Pacmin produced 40 of each aircraft in the ANA Star Wars theme airplanes. Of course,I have no way of knowing if that is accurate. I have the diecast B777 on order with my favorite retailer.

I will not be here often, get the JCW version if you want correct engines, I know there is a die-hard fan here who's still playing the same broken record everytime when comment about the 777ER, he will ignore this mistake for sure

It is actually the statement about the correct engines that sounds like the broken record on this forum to me. Over, and over, and over again, even though the engines are not a perfect shape and the wrong size. Never trust the designed to be an accurate critic of his own work.

For the REAL story and discussion of the accuracy of the engines, you may want to check here.

I think you are right. The exit markings do seem off on this model. Looks like they are printed too far forward. Funny, because most of the over wing exit markings on other IF 777-300ERs are pretty good. Maybe because this model is a custom with window and exit door markings added after the fact to an existing model?

This is absolut a catastrophe of Inflight, this cannot be happening. How could Inflight print it like that. How could they not recognize this error? If I knew that JCW would also make it, I'll wait for JCW model.

Is this an official Inflight release, or a CUSTOM model using after market decals on the Inflight mold. There ARE 1/200 scale decals available for this livery. I have quite a few Inflight 777-300ERs, and NONE of them have over wing exit markings like this, so it makes me wonder. As far as I know, Inflight doesn't have an ANA licensing agreement.

I suspect this is a custom (like ARD200s) using after market decals, but maybe someone knows if this is actually an Inflight release or an after market custom. If this IS an actual Inflight release, that would be pretty bad quality control.

Just curious, how do you know it is not a custom? No where in the eBay listing does it say it is an official Inflight release, or even an Inflight model (although it is obviously the Inflight mold), AND it can be painted and still be a custom. The listing even says this model comes in a plain white box without manufacturer markings.

The orange ice indicators on the taxi stripes (instead of the correct yellow) are one give-away that this may be an after market release.

I do not know exactly, that is an official Inflight release or not. The model is with a nice color cover (blue) and stand like the ebay-items you've seen, it is IF mold.

I don't want to post much photos here, which is too much secret, copy right and so on...

A bit of history showing the JC release announcement via a posting from Waffle from last year followed by an update from Nick. Perhaps the Dark Side got samples released or an 'off books' run was done by somebody, or...? As for decals vs tampo, my old eyes cant tell the difference from pictures.

Yup, my old eyes couldn't tell the difference either, not from these pictures, or from most pictures if decals were used and the model was clear coated.

ebay, but it looks like all the listings for the decals have been removed since I did my search a month or so ago. There is, however a boatload of models listed there.

The wings doors on both sides are off from what I can see, also the top circle of th BB-8 unit is too far back and the bold thick line that goes down the side just forward of where the door should be placed. My reference I am am going to be using is my Hogan (plastic model) of this subject model. I looked at the location of the yellow markings on the wings that never change. They are in the same position as the 1:1 photograph above and my model and this Inflight copy. I don't believe that the emergency exists markings on the wings are misplaced. It's the wings doors of the Tampo printing both sides is too far back of their correct position about 5mm. This does put the wing doors and the emergency exists in the wrong position causing the misalignment, in my opinion. All your views are welcome.

Here are my photos that you can draw your own conclusion

What do you think?

Thanks for the photos.

Ok, IMO is the emergency exists markings on the wings are about 5mm too long, I tried here to position it correctly:

The paint in the aircraft fuselage is correct from IF, the Hogan model painted wrong, you can see the photos, I have marked a few points in red:

A photo of this airplane I found in internet:

Ok, so I see Vandan has brought to our attention that there are now two different manufactures models that are incorrectly painted, and to avoid purchasing. Let's hope the JCW version is correct as there are a few of us Sydney DAcer's here that ordered that version, myself included.
Thanks Vandan

Thanks for the info Vandan. Only hawk-eyed collector will see these mistakes. If I had that IF model, I probably will let go of the mistakes except for that horrid color! Is that glow in the dark paint? What I don't understand is why Hogan (and some Herpa I think) took out the engine nacelle strakes on their 777s and Wide body airbuses. Their 737s, 787, and 747-8s and narrow body airbuses have it. Their MD-11s and C-17s have it plus the antennas.
