Default Gemini Qantas 747-400 VH-OJA Photos

Beautiful 747-400 mould now, timeless old Qantas livery, and as VH-OJA a very special aircraft, not getting changed to coke cans!

awesome pictures, thanks for sharing

so, did JC actually modify the mould to make less of a straight line from the top of the cockpit to the nose? it does appears that way on this release.

It is not a joke. The JC 747 landing gears are designed to be a bit flexible. If you want, you can make them straight very easily.

Here is a real joke for main landing gears:

It is a joke stupid. This is the most asinine statement I've ever read.
Landing gears design to be flexible with the option to straighten if desired. You're a fool for defending this crap

How ironic you're the only one with Inflight landing gear issues

Why don't JC use better quality of tires like those one on A380?

As already been written, these are flexible, and now it just depends how you set´em on the ground. If you want them to look straight, lift the plane a bit and correct. That´s it.

Tire quality is my main point too, I really do not like, but I´m sure there will be better ones in future, or good replacement tires.

These " collectors" attitude and posture is getting old, and boring really.
Im surprised "they" havent "purchased" for "their" collection another IF model with nasty gears!
As for JC, you can get them with every release.
But let me tell you one thing so you know, the nose shape is very nicely done, and I
am mong those who can see that, lets face it Egos, Tonkas, and Marcuses, the guys are
right, JCs landing gears need to show up some quality,.... like Inflights!
And you know WE are right when it comes to this.
Period.
( Printscreening this in case it gets deleted, wouldnt surprise me)

Fantastic shots of a beautiful model! I like the nose cone details are nice and subtle. I hope to get a Qantas 747 someday. I'm glad Gemini Jets offers 747's now. Thanks for sharing with us!

ego...you seriously don't get tired of this, do you? can jcw just improve on their landing gears instead of critisising if200 with a single model over and over again? is that too much to ask for of jcw?

This is by far the best 1:200 diecast 747 ive seen, and I will be waiting for future liveries to order. It seems like jc/gemini have fixed the nose issue, which was the only problem I had with the mold. I'm glad to see that both inflight and jc/gemini have stepped up their 747 game big time recently, and hopefully, like the jc 777, we will continue to see major improvements going forward.

The only thing better than the models are your photos

Awesome photos, and glad yours didn't have the Qantas kangaroo on the inboard right hand engine like mine. I suppose that is how the real one is down in Albion Park.

There is an easy way to remove the printed logos on engines : rubbing the logo gently with car polymer.

Pictures are here on this thread link of the starbord side Qantas B747-300 VH-EBT & B747-400 VH-OJA plus boxes

Yes you are right engine three did not have the Qantas Roo on engine 3 on it's last flight. GJ did get this right
so how does yours have one? There is only one engine on OJA at the moment & it's engine # 2 the rest are still in use as reserves for the remaining fleet

Pit stop, tire change .....! Herpa 551175 tires do the right job here, that´s the only way the tires on these wonderful models should look alike, not these beaver chewed donuts! Only front gear done for the moment, will send photos of complete change later.

Great pics and wow those new tires look great! The mains should have the same size tire as the nose. I can't wait to see the finished product! I might have to buy a bunch of those and start a fleet campaign of tire changes for my 747s!

Apart from your photo's being excellent, the tyre change is more than impressive. You just may have started a revolution. I hope that have had feed back from GJ/JC to replace the missing jewel

My 747s are all Jc, B.BOX or Gemini and they are great models but i can't defend the landing gears, they need to be improved. Great pics though of a stunning model, thanks for sharing.

Yes, all same size tires. I took a center punch, added a liitle bit machine grease on the metal, and pushed the Herpa tire on the punch, so the inner diameter gets a little bit wider. Just a liitle bit. Then you can change tires without the need of pressing too hard.

May be good to know if you want to start a fleet campaign!

I would love to see what Inflight's version of OJA's last flight looks like, so if anybody has it post some pictures please. The reason why is because the tail number is also repeated under the strobe on the APU on all Qantas 747-300,400's & all wide bodys have them. Inflight did do this with it's last release of VH-EBT 747-300 but it is not on this GJ release. Not a big thing at all but just curious.

Pictures of the INFLIGHT200 Version could be seen at Aviation Center Berlin.

Nice that IF200 has it done right to put the Gold stripe also on the winglets (which was forgotten on the GJ-release )

Thanks for your reply and that gold leaf missing on the winglets has been noted before. Avation Centre Berlin will not give me the answer to the the question I raised. Only can be done by someone that has an purchased an Inflight200 version of it. Cheers anyway

Pit stop, and landing light service done. I will not glue in another landing light again, ........ that´s so f.....n small, and that´s not what I want to do! But as VH-OJA is an outstanding very special model to me, I did these jobs to complete that wonderful bird.

Here I wonna say:

"hi to you workers, who are doing these amazing jobs, that´s really hard work, thanks for that, I hope you get paid well for your work!"

Here´s pics of upgraded tyres and landing light.
