Default Mexican Airline Development

Sorry guys gatecrashing again but this isn't really scale specific so thought you'd be interested.

It has been a while since I have put a new airline development section up on my site and that is because I have been writing them for the Airliner World magazine. Compared to my other pieces they are much expanded with this piece being over 2,500 words. They still cover the same topics though - namely the expansion of the aviation market following liberalisation. In this case the article covers Mexico, which has seen an interesting collection of new airlines since deregulation got going at the end of the 1980s.

Even if you read the article in the May 2015 edition of Airliner World I recommend having a read of this one as they saw fit to change the text quite substantially (for length and less defendable reasons). They actually introduced a few annoying errors too (like getting low fare and low cost confused) but hopefully there'll be more articles published with them in the future which I'll have more editorial control over!

Anyway the original article is up on the site now with photos and my trademark airline genealogies:

Interesting airline history block, no doubt Mexicana de Aviación was a big lost to the mexican aviation also AeroCalifornia. You are missing Aeromar in your graphics, operating airline from 1988 to date.

This picture is from 2013, when Aeromar was celebrating 25 years of service.

Aeromar is there next to Aeromexico Connect - just their logo is a bit hard to read!
