Looks good. Hope the production version does not have the paint flaw at the back of the left wing.

Model looks super good! Love it! But, now I'm really confused on who is actually releasing this model. It's listed as a pre-order below as a Gemini 1/200, and there is a photo of the model in the latest Airplane Shop catalog under the Gemini 200 page. So is it a Gemini release or a JC release?

Model Airplane: GeminiJets 1:200 British Airways Boeing 747-8F Cargo

I guess I'm not seeing the 'paint flaw'. The only thing I see is the paint reflecting some light on the tip of the left wing. Am I missing something?

I'm sure it does. Collectors have come to expect that now with JC Wings and Gemini since that feature was rolled out. Been several years since a model was released without a stand and removable gear.

This mold looks really great...I assumed it would be an 8I painted to look like an 8F, but it truly looks like an 8F (or you took the 400F body and put 8F wings on it? I suppose it's close enough). The fairing also looks much better...in my opinion, this makes Inflight's 747 mold obsolete.

I really wish the masts will be made again like on the old 747's (I suppose we can easily make them, but just a pain). I also wish the marconi dome was there like on the Air France 747-400F (it seems to appear on nearly every other modern 1:200 model, but never on the 747's?).

Can't wait to see the final model.

Looks like the paint here did not get proper coverage. Could be a lighting artifact, but I don't think so.

Even though I am basically completely out of room to display more 747 models, I am going to order this one. I checked my usual internet dealers, none display this model for pre-order.

I hope the production model has the 'exhaust colored' exhaust cones like the pictures of the Etihad 787-9 sample shows.

This looks like a great mold. LOVE the engine markings!

My guess is that it is lighting. You can see the same effect on the right wing too in the other pictures, and that looks like an area where the wing blends into the fuselage and the surface is more vertical so it would catch more of a reflection.

In either case, I join you in the hope that the production model will not have an issue. Judging by JCWs receint releases, it shouldn't.

the model has new wheels!? not the normal JC wheels, these look more like Inflight, I like these more, they are detailed better.

I have the Herpa version of this bird, but man, I gotta take one of these beauts in HEAVY METAL! As for the paint flaw, condensation perhaps? Kinda looks a little like shes just been de-iced at some frozen airfield!

I hope this model (also other 1/200 747-8 and 747-400s) can equip with detailed front landing gear lights, just like Gemini Jets' Boeing 757 front landing gear lights. Thanks!

Yes, the lights are nice to look in models, but they stop making them. Maybe too much expensive for JC. The Airbus 380 dont have lights ... maybe JC makes changes for these models please?

Wow, that's waaay off. Of course no one would try to pass off an -8i as an -8F, or a 744 body as a 748 body. The length definitely identifies it as an -8.

I was going to ask: "Is that why the "wishbone" (hydraulic steering actuators) doesn't turn with the nose wheels?", but it seems upon research that the real 747 does that too, so good job JC.

However,

I think it is pretty far off, especially for such an important section. The bluntness was the very first thing I noticed about the mould. Were it not fixed, I wouldn't buy any livery they put on it, kind of like the IF 727-200.

The only other thing that bothers me is how thick the engine chevrons look.
Pretty good sample otherwise. Can't wait to see a good livery on it!

While JCW have produced a masterpiece with the ANA 787-9, I feel there is something slightly off here with the upper deck hump (a little too pronounced) and nose gear which appears a little too far forward.

I'm certainly not a nit-picker but I noticed it too, I cant put a finger on it, but the hump doesn't look right, especially in pics 2 and 5.

It looks like the 'hump' is a little off to me too. It could be the angle of the pictures, but I think it is more that that.

The nose gear should be behind the cockpit windows when viewed directly from the side. The location of the nose gear looks good to me in pic #2, the most direct side view

The 'hump' should start tapering down almost immediately behind the cockpit. The 'hump' on the model looks like it curves up and has its maximum height between the rotating beacon and the antenna, which is definitely wrong as the attached picture shows. The cockpit roof should start to taper down at the rotating beacon.

The nose gear is fine. It is behind the cockpit windows as shown in the second photo by Marcus.
