Had a huge problem trying to find a cabinet to fit all the models in. The cost of buying a glass shelving with glass doors is expensive. So, I decided to make one. 2m wide, 2m tall 45cm depth, 4 glass doors, 8 glass shelves. At the end of the day, the cost in building it compared to buying one was comparable. There's a company in Sydney that specialise in all glass cabinets at a reasonable price. Last time I saw them selling on Ebay.

For me, the An124 gets the prize. That beast looks as though it 'really means business'

thanks 4 sharing. was in down under for 5 yrs (ah sydney, i still miss 60 whitting street arrangement, no match for marium's management).
i am planning to build shelves in basement. instead of glass, will go for acrylic, saw in home depot (toronto). light, sturdy and no risk of cut.

Hi:

It's good to see there are some freighter collectors in the forum. I have mine too, but must of my models are MD-11. I am waiting for the new Herpa Cargolux 747-8, perhaps in this week it should arrive.

By the way, where did you get the Atlas Air?? It looks nice even with the wing flex as I can see in pictures. Is that model a regular release by Hogan?

Nice collection and thanks for sharing with us.

Best regards.

The Atlas Air 747-8F is a Hogan model. Unfortunately, it's one of those "models" that really didn't make it into the main stream due to reasons beyond my understanding. There was 1 for sale on the Japanese Auction site Yahoo last week. I was lucky to get this off Ebay in Australia. She is a beauty!

As for the AN124, its made by LIMOX. I also got this off Ebay. The engines on this model also spin as the Hogan models do. You'll find some for sale on Ebay, otherwise they're stocked in certain Europe outlets. I've actually did the ground handling for this particular aircraft rego when last in Darwin.

I did a search for it on ebay, couldn't find the An-124 made my Limox. How much does it usually go for?

It looks better than the Flight Miniatures version I got a few years back. Is it also 1:200 scale?

Go to aviationmegastore.com , from there click on to "collectors models" then "push fit models" then "Premium models". There you should find the AN 124. The model is in 1/200 scale with the price about 25 euros and 30 euros with tax. I hope this helps.

Ah nice, thanks for letting me know. Anyone did a side by side comparison of this model vs Flight Miniatures. Want to see if it's worth it to get this release.
