Learning Photography
A few quick shots I took. I know they are a little washed out by the flash. Tips would be appreciated.

Re: Learning Photography
Can you get the flash off camera or use some sort of bounce flash or reflector? This will soften the flash and give you a lot better lighting.

Pentax Optio E80. I know its not a $2000.00 Nikon, but I would like to learn how to get close ups, without everything being washed out? I'm sure this is very basic photography 101,so go easy on me.

Re: Learning Photography
For close-ups, turn off the flash. You can also adjust the EV setting (exposure compensation) on your camera. Use tripod or something to keep the camera steady. If photographing a subject behind a glass, shoot it in the angle so that the flash wont bounce back at you.

Re: Learning Photography
Hi:
Well, no one start knowing everything about photography, aviation, models, etc. I just start spotting this year and started knowing some basics elements and nothing else. It will take some time to consider myself a non amateur spotter. On friday I will post a blooper that I did while while spotting last Sunday .
These photographs of yours are not bad, in fact I want to ask you where is store located. That Iberia A340-300 is a model I've been looking for a long time.
Have a nice day.

Re: Learning Photography
If you are using the point and shoot camera, try to look for a macro settings for close up objects. That should give you the clear photos.

You're Pictures Are Not Too Terrible.
Photoshop 102
You Can Tone The Highlights Down In Photoshop Using The "Shadow/Highlight" Tool. But Be Careful The Colors Can Oversaturate.
Photography 103
Some People Mentioned Using +- EV Epxosure Compensator, However, Mid Level DSLRs Also Have A +- EV Compensating Dial Dedicated To The Flash as Well.
You Need To Cosult Your Manual If You Have A Flash Compensator.
I Don't Reccommend Existing Light Unless You Practice First.
Color Shift And Camera Blur Can Be Unflattering By Products Associated With Using Ambient Light.
Photography 101 Practice, Practice, Practice.
