the 2nd release one seems to have an updated 787 dreamliner livery and a more accurate looking cockpit i think.

mmm seems like it. must take a better pic of mine to compare. original release also has ANA titles, as they were first to order the dreamliner i believe.

The second release of N787BA had the red windows and was the 'First Flight' one. The livery was pretty much the same, outside of not having the tails. The FIRST release of N787BA (with tails) that Robert has is the 'the Roll Out' one, as that is what it looked like when it was first rolled out and presented to the world. It was an empty shell, but it sure looked cool!! Source: 'Boeing 787 Dreamliner' by Guy Norris and Mark Wagner 2009

This THRID Phoenix release is of a totally different aircraft -- N787BX -- but looks just as fantastic as the first two prototype releases in the series!!

Also you forgot to say, this new B787 N787BX, was the one who made the Dreamliner World Tour in earlier months of the present year.

well, if you want or looking for the 'original' release, grayland has one for just $75.00!! its only missing top antennae. these normally go for up to double that or more.

Phoenix's 787 has the most accurate engine in-take of all the diecast 787 moulds currently in the market...the only down side versus JC's is the details printing on the wings!

I didn't forget, I knew I could count on you to bring that forward.

Not 100% accurate, just 98% accurate. But they do present extremely well, look quite convincing, and are certainly the best on the market.

And the only OTHER downside, aside from the wings, is Phoenix got the aerial positions mixed up. The one under the forward section should not even be there. It should be sitting in the empty section of the upper rear. Small point, IMPO.

Outside of these minor niggles, these are really spectacular looking models.

Here some pics I took on March and they show exactly what you mean....there even 2 antennas in the rear upper fuselage.

Rear antennas (over and below fuselage aerials).

Also note this little intake for the APU.

I am not worried about those aerials fret misplaced, they are minor details as you said. Nothing in this world is perfect......

Great shots! You are very lucky to have seen one of these prototypes 'live'. Without a doubt, the aerial issue is minor, and not something to get worked up about. Phoenix was able to capture the overall look and feel of this aircraft extremely well to the point of 'best in class', IMPO.
