Re: Gemini Jets October Releases 2012
Air France B773 and of the Hawaiian A332 for me. The blue on the Air France looks a bit to light? Looks like the front landing gear for the A332 has been redone. The gear looks much better and is no longer big and wonky.

I heard Upkeep passed out over that AF B777-300ER!
Air France and Hawaiian for me. Another 4 US airliners and 2 non-US releases trend.

Re: Gemini Jets October Releases 2012
Only 3 hours ago I was having a bet with someone that the forthcoming GJ releases would consist of a bunch AA, DL, CO, AS, UA etc with maybe a European or 2 thrown in. Looks like I was right. All too predictable.

Re: Gemini Jets October Releases 2012
I will probably buy the wavy tail 727, but I can't help but think "why are they doing this livery(again?)? I mean, we don't have ANYthing in the infamous interim livery that I think looked great on a 727. We are all desperately waiting for a widget re do, as well. I hadn't got around to buying the JetX version of this so I'll probably buy this, but it's strange to me that this is what they chose.

Gemini if you are going to make 777's please make it in airline that hasn't been made before. Your range this year has been pretty awful no imagination.

Air France 777-300ER...
You're KILLING Me. Pretty soon me and the models are gonna be living on the side of the road in a cardboard box!
Honestly, I'm really excited for the AF 777-300ER, I think the 1:1 looks really elegant and I was hoping Gemini would release one after the Hogans got snapped up. There are a ton of models on my list for the next 2-3 months, hopefully I'll be able to afford this one!
That HA A330-200 looks good (already seen it though) but I'll pass.
By the way, the AF 777 Photo colours look a little strange just like the -200ER but I'm sure thats just the photo again.

Re: Gemini Jets October Releases 2012
HAWAIIAN A330-200... great stuff... next shall be the Boeing 717 so that the current Hawaiian Airlines fleet can be completed (type-wise).
Another Delta and American release was already expected, to be honest. No problem here, just a matter of fact.
Concerning the few European (or non-US) releases: another Air France 777 - woohoo... - and a Dash 8 of a company few people do care about (sorry to the Polish fans).
Never heard of British Airways, Iberia, Swiss, Austrian, Alitalia, Aegean, TAP, BMI, Aer Lingus, SAS, Condor, Air Europa? Bring on some of their classic airliners, please!

An A340-300 is with the A330-300 an easy one.. Center main landing gear plus new wings with four pylons and engines are easy to do..
An A340-200 out of an A330-200 is not possible though - They are completely different! The A340-300 is the way more popular model in anyway, so many will be happy to see it on case GJ will release it - AF, SK, IB most likely..

Re: Gemini Jets October Releases 2012
Great!!!! The Air France 777-300ER for me. I am not very much into 1:200 collecting but here I make an exception because I flew on that plane 3 months ago. Can't wait to inspect the 1:200 version.

Re: Gemini Jets October Releases 2012
Nothing this month for me,although hopefully this AF 777 will lead to some of its short haul brethren, CRJ,ARJ, A320 types etc.
Gemini have seen how well models like the BA A320/21, KLC Fokkers and KLM 737s sell, so why aren't we seeing more of such types, there's some lovely BA A319s knocking round with the "to fly to serve" crest on, hint hint.

you mean that that there aren't potential customers outside the US... come on, that is ridiculous...why should i buy substandard, overpriced IF200 models instead of GJ200 - they should increase their output of euro-models in 1/200 diecast. Inflight is a UK-based manufacturer and also pays attention to the US market, so why shouldn't GJ be able to...

I too hope for the AirFrance/BritAir CRJ-700 or -900. Gemini has already done the A320-200 eons ago, but there is plenty reason to do up the AF A319s!

This is true, but it was in the old colour scheme, out of the Airbuses the A319 would probably be my preferred choice, that or a A318, but I doubt they'll do one. I'd love a CityJet Avro RJ-85 as well, in either new AF or WX colours.

Gemini's A320 was indeed, the old livery. I'm looking at mine right now. Super detailed for sure. Yes, new livery for a A319 would be welcomed here as well. Mould exists, so why not?
I too have been hoping to see the BAe-146 (RJ-85) too, but I'd prefer it in the old AF/CJ livery. I do, however, have the Herpa F.50 in the new CJ livery and it does look quite smart. Still, the AF/CJ BAe-146 eludes me . . .

It is GJ's business plan for their 200th scale product line, roughly 50-70% US releases every month. Observe the trend of releases month after month, 4 US airliners and 1 to 2 non-US. European releases are concentrated on BA, Monarch, BMI, Thomson,Thomas Cook, Air France and KLM. Once in a while there is Air Berlin, TAP, Iberia, SAS, Aeroflot, Finnair, Alitalia and Aer Lingus. Other North American are Air Canada, Buffalo Airways, Mexicana and Aero Mexico. Middle East release is mostly Emirates. Asia-Pacific are Qantas, Air New Zealand, Philippine Airlines, Air Asia and Malaysian Airlines. So month after month it will the same staple releases, mostly Delta, AA, US Airways, United, Pan Am, etc. GJ200 sees $$$ on these corporate orders.

Re: Gemini Jets October Releases 2012
The AS 737-400 is a must have for me... it'll look great with the rest of my AS/QX collection. I really hope they don't release it with eyebrow windows though, as All of Alaska's 734s have had them plugged for a couple years now. It is surprising that GJ did decided to do the DL 722 in the 2000 colors, I don't think the Jet-X version is that hard to find jet. It dose appear that this bird doesn't have the hush kits like the Jet-X release, so at least there is that difference.

How does this work? What do the airlines do with the models? They do not give them to the high level elite status flyers. I'm Executive Platinum on American and 1K on United and have never even heard of a passenger getting a Gemini model from the airline. Yes there are super elite levels beyond 100,000 mile flyers like me but I would have heard about this on flyertalk.com or in an airline lounge by now if it were common. The only airline that I've seen selling models was Hawaiian in HNL. Those were El Cheapo plastic jobs not G200.

Re: Gemini Jets October Releases 2012
Although very tempting the AF offering is probably one I'll pass on, mainly due to its size and basic similarity to the existing smaller model. If only they had done the A330 in AF colors instead

Interesting point you raise, NtC. I too wonder just who are the recipients of these corporate models that the airlines have made by firms like Gemini? I mean . . . let's face it, a 777-300 from Gemini, for instance, can be a pretty impressive item, so are they corporate gifts? I never see them being sold by the various airlines I've flown on or in the shops at the airport. All I see are those weezy plastic things.
At the end of the day, that sure is a lot of diecast models monthly that the airlines order. Yes, another curious mind would like to know.

Re: Gemini Jets October Releases 2012
Nothing for me. As a UK collector I'm getting to the point of considering myself lucky we've had the 777 and Monarch Airbus, but again feel there was so much more to be done. You'd have expected one of the BA Olympic birds being a cert, and while the 777 is welcome did it have to be the Chatham tail again? IF have done the Chelsea Rose, wouldn't a world tail have possibly been a bit more distinctive? I love GJ product I really do I just wish there was more UK stuff done. The UK charter airlines are particularly poorly served. Surely a Go, Airtours, Britannia, air 2000 model etc would be good sellers?

Some airlines order them for their online stores. (Alaska, Jet Blue, etc..) But I imagine true, corporate models are given out as gifts to VIPs and such.
